Hello class…in todays presentation…a walk through the chords of the Trip The Witch song “Dressed To Kill Myself”.
Also , a couple videos of my dear old friend Guthrie Trapp absolutely destroying my ‘38 OOO-18 and my ‘37 AJ.
Also, the lovely ‘65 Gibson 335 in the video is available in this episode of Uncle Larry’s garage sale. This guitar is ABSOLUTELY ready to be someone’s main squeeze….beautiful refret and it plays like absolute butter, dead in tune. Nice fuckin guitar in the original case. Has some Bigsby holes and original tuners reinstalled after some others were on it…best part about this guitar is it has the “tweener” nut width…it’s not the classic wide pre ‘65 1 11/16” nut width, but it’s not that super skinny late 60’s feel either…its a “tweener”

OMG! I lived in Memphis in the 70's.Played Punk rock in L.A., N.Y., and England in the 80's, but I wouldn't dare show myself as a guitar player in Nashville! Y'all are too good!

Velvet Hammers! one of best takeaways from Uncle Larry. Goes so great with hybrid picking on acoustic and electric- softens the bass note so EQ more equalized across the entire figure.

I will add that, as a many-year hobbyist on the guitar, it's refreshing to hear this excellent guitar-centric music that isn't show-off shredding. I listen to and respect shredding (though I cannot shred), but this chill, ultra-listenable music gives hope to those of my ilk and is a reminder that one need not be the fastest or the most technically gifted to write/play awesome tunes. Thank you, Uncle Larry! P.S. I will add the caveat that some of Uncle Larry and Mr. DeLeo's chords are exotic and indeed are "a hard grab." Ha!

Fabulous song this beautiful Em9 is awesome. I don't know if anyone has been catched by the lightnin halo on the Left of the screen which is moving and exploding while Tom is playing just like an eerie trip. My oh my, Guthrie is such a wonderful guitar player knew his amazing style on electrics but on acoustic Waouh !!!!! Shady Grove form Doc Watson a real gem

I love the way that Emaj plays in that chord progression. It’s like those preceding voicings in the first half are lush but JUST dissonant enough that the Emaj is just so…luxurious.

Hey uncle Larry, my wife and I went to the Hall and Oats show in Tampa FL, last night. During intermission they played excerpts from episodes of Daryls House, where we saw you playing some amazing licks. We were freaking out man, it was like seeing an old friend on the big screen.
