I replied after being at work till pretty late. I looked down the first 10 or so and never saw anything referring to PAF and just typed what I typed. No crime committed. Its what 'you' do when somebodies comment is pinned...clearly. @@stringlocker
Tom you’re the master of the one way conversation, not many people could do that. You could have been a journalist or colour commentator, it feels natural and fluid, not forced and it leaves the viewer feeling engaged. Plus the music, gear, tone, comedy….. 👍🏽
The joy in Homeskoolin is a chance to get a glimpse into your mind Tom. I can't ask Patrick Mahomes what he was seeing at the line or Lebron what he is working on with his jumpshot, but you give us unfettered access into a world we all dream about, yet never really see. Thanks Tom - this channel is amazing.
Yeah this ⬆️. It’s nuts we now get guitar lessons, demos and insight from the best in the world (for free). Used to buy magazines, vhs concerts hoping for a blurb or a glimpse. Now we get a point of view perspective, weekly, checking out the fucking whizzer as you’re walking by it during rehearsal.
Tom, i was legitimately just thinking the other day about how much i love this channel. It's a serious uplift and comfort to me in dark and dangerous times. ❤
Maybe I'm late to the party (the chanel), but I hope you'll get through it whatever it is. I lost a lot in my young life, but when I learned to be greatful and modest things made a big turn for the better and now the LIGHT follows me around.
Hi Tom, not even sure where to begin. Don't stop talking to us. You are the kind of mentor/friend every musician needs. Its not just technique, licks, chops, its so much more....its a great human being who is a great musician just sharing his musical life with us. What is there not to love. And about offering your guitars, don't stop, we love seeing great old instruments, you have always been upfront about your guitar flipping. It may sound weird, but you have been such a bright spot out here in rural Oregon, and i love you for it. Enough, i could go on ad nauseam.
Tom, as the only channel on RU-vid I subscribe to, I think Homeskoolin is whatever you decide it’s going to be. I come back (again and again) for the music, wisdom, humour and (most importantly in our sometimes fkd world) the honesty …..which shines through in your music, wisdom and humour. Only change if you want to…..dealer’s choice.
Same here. About a year ago I was subscribed to 20+ channels, got burned out trying to keep up with all the videos posted, unsubscribed to all of them except my favorite, Little Tommy. 😊
Keep on rockin' and keep on talking! I love to listen to your stories, comments, opinions and lessons. I listen to them when I'm cooking or warming up to play.
Hi Tom, thanks for all your pearls of wisdom. I have been contemplating the chops vs feeling thing for awhile now and the way you are able to articulate what it is to make music has definitely helped me in my musical journey. Listening to you is always enlightening.
Hey Tom, no you don’t talk too much in your videos. What I love about Homeskoolin’ is that it’s not just amazing playing and lessons but also a conversation. I enjoy your thoughts on this and that and the wisdom you share from countless hours of consuming, practicing, and playing music. This channel is by far the best thing on RU-vid. I look forward to each of your videos. All the best, Trina
Hey Tom, I appreciate your videos. I appreciate that your genuine and you just be you whether you talk or play. Your playing is beautiful and your stories of the biz and your opinons are great! Thanks! ✌🏼😎
Talk away Tom!!! Every time you open your mouth you are imparting some beautiful nugget of of wisdom or insight! And...the entertainment value your channel offers is THROUGH THE ROOF!!!! Homeschoolin' is the absolute BEST thing on the interwebs! Keep up the awesome work!
This is the best freakin channel ever! I was howling when you told that guy to F off. I just started using in ears after 40 years, and I like them, especially now with the personal mixing board you can have on your phone.
Hey Tom, really appreciate the talking, insights, opinions, and perspectives that you share, so playing is great, talking is great too. Thanks for the videos!
Jesus man, your videos are pure gold. Your playing, stories, tips on guitar and life in general, are genuinely the best thing available to watch for anyone that loves the instrument. Thanks, Uncle Larry.
This is probably my favorite Homeskoolin’ video of all time first seeing you play those triads on the top 3 strings with your 2nd, 3rd and 4th fingers has given me something to work on. But 2nd, the content, knowledge and honest opinions were outstanding. Thanks Uncle Larry!!! 🤟😎🎸
You're awesome, Uncle Larry! I appreciate your channel, the info you freely share, and your authenticity. You're a great dad and I loved your comments on Beato's interview with you and Guthrie. Thanks for what you're doing.
This is great! Loved the full circle conversation about HW being an alien and following little to nothing from his past, to you saying guys who do all these chops, but have no feel. For me much of the influence and feel comes from the foundation, I came from studying the ones before me. Using that confidence to branch out. I am sure there are many ways to get to the bullseye. To me it is very interesting how you, and others approach this. This was a stellar video my friend and has really got me thinking. Thanks so much for what you do!
No you never talk to much and you never play enough for my ears! It’s all gold! So just keep on doing what feels right to you! And a Hugh thanks for it!👍🤗💝💕❤️🎸🙏✌️👋
I just discovered this channel last night. I watched Uncle Larry and Dan discussing tone and loved the episode. I have been aware of Tom's playing for a few years, but so cool to discover he is such a down to earth guy. I feel like a found a new friend. Thanks Tom for making me feel like we are just hanging out as friends.
Hello Mr. B., Love your channel. Its great to hear you talk, you share your knowledge and stories. That is never a bad thing. Best thing is it sounds like you are first a great Dad. Its great when you show guitars and if its a good one you give people a chance to buy from you. That is priceless, who knows a diamond in the rough better than you, also you know all the places we never heard of or chance to go to, to find them. Keep sharing your stories or just random conversation ! Keep Rocking and being you! You talk to us in video's like you know us, thank you for that! Cheers from Canada, hope one day get a chance to meet you, even just to say Hi!
I understand more about playing guitar from your dialogues then just watching you play and trying to steal kung-fu/licks from you Tom. Thanks again for your time and effort big Unc' Larry
I doubt anyone is going to find a more meaningful source of real world guitar playing information than 🤟the modest session man, Tom. One can learn more in one sentence from Tom than you might otherwise in a lifetime in regard to the pursuit of everything guitar - if one will only, listen. Certainly no one that I have ever seen enjoys playing and living everything music more. Home skoolin is a totally unique and genuine endeavor. All that said, the spontaneity of the channel is a great part of the overall charm of the channel. May it rock on and on ! 🍻💪🎸
You don’t talk to much Tom or play to much I’ve watched you from the beginning in the garage and with the x singing and loved every episode keep it up. I’ve learned a lot an appreciate it ! Don’t stop
First thanks for doing what you do, as far as drummers go I can relate. A good drummer leads and is the backbone that I lock in with. They make everyone in the band better and actually bring out the best in everyone. It can be a long night if you have a drummer that follows you. Again thanks and ROCK ON!!!
Uncle Larry, my continued interest in HomeSkoolin' is as much about playing guitar as it is about Tom Bukovac. You are a very cool cat brother Tom, and through these videos i get to experience you. And oh some of the tales that are told...I think it's great, please keep doing just what you're doing man.
Tom, You ARE a wonderful Father !!!!!!! It shows in how you change when you speak of your Sons….! Tender and Proud. Dude, i Love You as a musician but You have my Respect as a “fellow-Dad” !!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey Tom, thanks for sharing all the knowledge and humor. This channel has been a blessing. Looked up some of your credits this morning and realised I've been listening to you every friday night when work ends and fun begins, for almost a year. The song is "Cold beer calling my name". Cheers and thanks again.
Tom talk as much as u want cause everything u talk about is so dam interesting and informative - and coming from someone who knows his shit and great stories of ur career. So dude, talk or play of both - just keep doin what u do. Best fkn channel on the tube hands down,
When I watch Tom I feel like you're and old school friend who loves guitars and music and we're just hanging. That's a magical talent. Lol. Don't ever change play, talk whatever. It's all good. Boston Ken
Lol. “I’m only one man” Dude, you’re a great hang. Love the playing, love the banter. Ask any of your friends. They secretly (or not so secretly) watch all of your videos all while they have coffee with you IRL. Keep ‘em comin.
Man you are like that dear close relative or friend we all wanted we had! The one who likes to chat about music, guitars and life forever. And now we have it!! These videos are gems and I could EASILY ditch all the other RU-vid subscriptions if I could only have one, wouldn't hesitate a second. I can't imagine how hard it is to keep motivated to talk alone to the camera but man we love it when you do. You are literally changing the world and making THOUSANDS of peoples lives better and easier every day. Somehow you have the ability to make people's burdens feel a little lighter with every video. Even when you think you actually have no burden at the moment. That's pretty amazing. This time (and every time) here in Finland, northern of Europe. Thank you for your humble work!
I agree with you on so many things Tom, especially not wiggling and bending the guitar neck etc. Hahaha !!! Love these long conversations with us Uncle Larry !!! We are so blessed.
Hey Tom, keep talkin, keep playin, keep showin us around some of the great studios, keep showin us your drinking cup of choice, keep introducin us to your friends, keep goin into freak out mode, keep tellin us stories from the road, keep the background lights a blazin, keep givin the finger to the weirdos, keep gettin lost in the music, keep inspirin us, keep bein you...We're bloody lovin it.
Hey Tom, just being yourself is what makes this work. Most of us know that’s how you roll. I had two guitar instructors growing up. The first one, although a great player, only spoke to admonish my pitiful skills. The second one would show me a cool concept to work on and then we’d sit and talk about anything and everything for hours. I learned a lot more from the second one. Many of us homeschoolers value your perspective and wisdom. I say talk as much as you want. I really appreciate your lessons, even those that extend beyond the fretboard. Thanks!
Tom, listening to you talk is just as enjoyable as listening to you play those wonderful melodies. But hearing you say things like “fuck you, that’s the third time” is the bomb! Totally enjoyed that!
