My house is set about 500 feet from the main road. We use this exact sensor screwed to a post at the end of our driveway. I've used it for about a year now and there have been no issues with it. Transmits back to the house very well.

So the on/off switch is actually on the sensor itself. This will make it convenient for the theft.

Great Video if you ever have to recharge your solar panel, how do you do that? When it’s mounted to the fence
@DIYHomesteadProjectsDIYHP10
@DIYHomesteadProjectsDIYHP10 Месяц назад
I am not understanding your question. You don't have to recharge the solar panel. I have had it up for several years and I have not had any problems with the solar panel charging the internal battery.

@@DIYHomesteadProjectsDIYHP10 oh that’s good to know thank you so much. I figured it has a plug-in a USB in the back to plug it into the wall I thought maybe once a year or something you would have to plug it back into the wall to recharge the battery but the solar panel does the job thank you.

People always lack saying the highest that they can put something on ,30 feet. Under 9 feet. At least 4 feet, what's the highest? That you could put it to where it will detect.

Thanks Mark, good to hear from you. Hope all is well with you. Hey, quick question. What size wire are you using on your 205DS machine?
@markashlock9017
@markashlock9017 3 года назад
@@DIYHomesteadProjectsDIYHP10 : I’ve just used .30 so far. I’m running on 120. When I tried .35 on my Titanium, it kept throwing my 20 amp breaker, so I’ve been reluctant to try it on my 205.

Thanks for the info Mark. The reason I ask is I just got a Yeswelder MIG 250 Pro for making videos with. I have never used a MIG welder. Only a flux core welder so this is going to be something completely new to me. I think I'll start out with Flux core since I already have some then move on to some .030 solid wire with gas. The welder came with two .035 tips and a .045 tip. From what I can interpret from the instructions Yeswelder says to use the .035 tip for both .030 and .035 wire and I couldn't find a .030 tip for the mig gun on their web site. Interesting! I would think it should be using a .030 tip for .030 wire but I'll give the .035 tip a try and see what happens since it's all I have for now. Did your 205DS come with a .030 tip for the MIG gun?

@@DIYHomesteadProjectsDIYHP10 : Cool on the Pro! It’s 240 only, right? Yep, my 205 came with .30 and .35 tip. The tips at HF fit the Yes just fine, so you can pick up a .30 there. An anomaly I ran into with my 205 and is evidently “just the way they come”...is that on the Flux Core setting, it will only allow me to select .35 wire. Not sure if you will run into that on the Pro or not? One thing I REALLY like about the Pro that the 205 does not have, is the ability to switch to “manual” and override the “synergic” settings. You can “tweak” the synergic settings in the 205 which is actually “good enough”, but wood be nice if it had the override feature. Don’t wait too long to get that 75/25 bottle. You gonna love Mig!!! So glad I started with Flux Core so I could appreciate the difference. Don’t get me wrong...I will always need flux core, and in the grand scheme of things, will probably use it more than Mig. Still really enjoyable to run Mig for a change, especially on “inside the shop” projects! Looking forward to the vid in the Pro : )

@@DIYHomesteadProjectsDIYHP10 : Oh, and bty, if you by the .30 tips, you have to buy a whole mess of ‘em. If you just want to try one, IM me you mailing address, and I’ll slip one in an envelope and shoot it your way.

Thanks H Phillips, I appreciate that. If you have deer around they will definitely set it off if they get close enough. Ours goes off sometimes from neighborhood cats but we do like having the sensor. It really helps with security and peace of mind. Good luck with your project.

Is there any way to replace the solar battery in the sensor? They never seem to last more than a year or two.

Good question but I don’t know. I haven’t had to change mine yet. It’s been a couple of years now.
