Their worst enemies at the beginning: Their own inventory systems Their worst enemies at the end: An evil space empress who could juggle planets with her mind, several versions of the same guy who all became ridiculously overpowered through various means, and a hulked-out space pimp who destroys entire timelines for fun
the funny is that LE is above Andrew Hussie, who fiction HS(paradox space) which has a group o acausal beings(horroterrors) that controls an infinite nothingess(the furthest ring) that has the platonic concepts(the aspects) of reality, this nothingness contained an infinite hierarchy of creators, with each creator trascending the creator below, and then you have a genesis frog which contains infinite timelines, and there are infinite genesis frogs
@@Johnof1000Suns i'd say LE actually exceeds that, hussie was the writer and he got demolished by him. theoretically, he's omnipotent and could penetrate the 4th wall to kill us all
@@cultofmel he literally wrote a song that's now in an official nintendo game for a nintendo rom hack, and used the same soundfont for the version in the official game
i honestly wonder if toby legitimately had fun making this or if this was some behemoth demon song to him that he dreaded the very thought of creating and it still gives him nightmares to this day
As a person who was fascinated with Homestuck for a time and a half, I never actually got to read the whole thing, but after hearing this song so many times and jamming out at the chanting parts, it makes me want to go back to reading it. One more thing I'll say for those who want to start reading Homestuck: Any part you skip in this whole story (no matter how big or small) is like going to the bathroom while forgetting to pause Regular Show.
Yeah its like you decide to mash up modern and classic Rpg music like there is a game that allows you travel time like between old and new also the battle music would change depending of what time you are right now like past of future that what's this song made me feel like
+97raven123 That's until you realize the brilliance of the actual ending. Go to Act 6 Act 6 Act 5 again. You'll see what I mean. (Also, there are only 2 equal marks at the end (4 lines) symbolizing the alpha kids, and not the 4 equal marks (the beta kids) because the beta kids straight up don't make it. They die. That stuff in Act 7 are just possibilities - dreams. They aren't what actually happens.
@@Horsehater500 the final trainer battle music, though i'd recommend not searching it until you finish the game since youtubers love to spoil shit in thumbnails
No, because that was one part of the very beginning and it was never what Homestuck was "just about". That's kinda like saying "Remember when Pokemon was just about some kid not being allowed to leave town without a chaperone?"
at 2:08 i always get chills. it reminds me of the words of John's dad; "I'm proud of you, son" (this is the part where Jane and Nanasprite heal them and support the fight
Did anyone else actually sort of like the Undertale reference in here with Davepetesprite^2? I mean, Undertale's fandom can be pretty crazy, but it was a tribute to Toby Fox, the basement loiterer who wrote music for us...
As far as I'm aware production on [s] collide started around a year before it was released (October 2016), meaning Undertale had likely been out for a couple months before the music production started.
What would you even categorize this song as? Circus Rock? I've never heard such a ridiculous array of sounds you would hear at a carnival make something so adrenaline pumping.
Oppa toby style is better then MEGALOVANIA in my book, but it is a vastly different song and it's catchy and every new version sounds unique, toby is a musical genius.
I actually showed my mom UT Megalovania, she didn't like it. I showed her the Homestuck/Earthbound Version, and she loved it! Also, I love all of Toby's music. My personal favourites are Finale from UT and Black
+Trixster009 "A leitmotif or leitmotiv /ˌlaɪtmoʊˈtiːf/ is a "short, constantly recurring musical phrase" associated with a particular person, place, or idea. It is closely related to the musical concepts of idée fixe or motto-theme." - Wikipedia
can't we just appreciate Toby for continuously giving us bops? like, i love homestuck, i love undertale, both soundtracks do a great job for their respective content
or they simply dont understand it. i experienced people who believe it to be "a bunch of random, no-sense making panels thatarent connected to eachother whatsoever that where made by someone on drugs literally"
Ehh, people are always claiming that really imaginative stuff is just the product of drug use. It's dumb. As Salvadore Dali once said, "I don't _do_ drugs. I _am_ drugs."
@@wimberlen I disagree, Homestuck is when he could unleash his power: for UT/DR he had to compose everything, write most of the story and dialogues, code a lot, test everything was ok, while in Homestuck he only had to compose and wasn't even the only one. Making his own games means he physically doesn't have time to completely dedicate to music (and somehow he still makes only bangers), but in Homestuck he had everything at his disposal, in fact he had free time while composing that he used to... write Undertale.
4:26 My favorite part of this section of Collide, mostly because Jade plays bass, and just hearing those notes, just makes me all fuzzy inside realizing that this is the last actual fight between PM and Bec Noir.
Let's see... I hear Rex Doudecim Angelus, English, Crystalmathequins, Karkat's Theme, Black... that's all the Homestuck related themes I can hear... am I missing something?
+Monodoof There's also a snippet that appears repeatedly in Cascade that starts at 1:27 and then from 4:42 to 4:54 there's Umbral Ultimatum/Penumbra Phantasm, part of which was apparently made to sound like Doctor.
+Rippertear AKA SDL Benjii TGPASOTSISAPROA(THR)STTLOYTYVMDFTBYTBCTSAASPIYH Actually using only the leitmotif isn't a copyright issue. It's just the tune and timing of the music. It would be a problem if he used the exact same music. But even if he wanted, he could, since he is the author. PS: Hate to break it to ya, but you have a really long name.
@@herrabananii wasn’t really around during the big bang of the homestuck fandom so to speak, so i have no clue. it’s funnier personally to assume that toby named it himself though.
If a song: -Starts with Rex Duodecim Angelus and English -Has Black, Karkat's theme, Cascade, Penumbra Phantasm, and Killed By Br8k Spider!!!!!!! in the middle -Ends with Liquid Negrocity Then it is definitely an awesome song.
It's super sad that HS has essentially completely died out. I feel like a lot of things could have been done differently to ensure it was a cult classic instead of having it die in a few months and have a shitty rep
Partly hussie's fault for not properly taking care of the comic, dealing with making that HS game took such a toll on the comic and fucked up SO many things. His worst mistake was giving the series to the twitter fanbase, it's only gone downhill since.
It hasn’t died out, the fanbase just moved on to different things. I still see it everywhere, all the fans are extremely self-aware, and pretty critical of the comic- which thankfully has given it a better reputation. I’m sure Homestuck will see a resurgence, either from something official or something fan-made. Personally, I’m remaking Homestuck in a style reminiscent of Spider-Verse and the epilogue pages right after [S] Collide. It’s been in the works for a year and half now. I have high hopes for it, I’ve spoken with so many people who’s works I’ve admired for so long because of this project, and the feedback has been good. So who knows, maybe that will help boost Homestuck up a bit. Either way, a remake from me or someone else is inevitable
@@hopelessamaturerougeofhope4399 same, but I knew about hs before undertale, I was young, and on RU-vid and found s wake and was like “cool, but w a t” cus I was like 5. Then I found undertale in 2016 and fanboyed hard, but kinda forgot about s wake so, I was basically a hs fan first (not really doe)
usmc kyuubi psshshshsh what do u mean........................................ i started reading in fcuking feb adn then finished april 13th. So yeah finished it in 2 months
I DID AND IT WAS WORTH IT And then finished the rest at the same time, then went to my bed and fell asleep crying because it that, it was the best day ever :,)
watching [S]: Collide, hearing this song’s buildup, and promptly having the sudden intense part scare the shit out of you is a universal experience, right?
Sounds like something that would play during the final boss battle of an RPG where reality itself is collapsing around the party while they are fighting a shapeshifting amalgamation that changes into a new form every turn.
Does "reality breaking because of a time machine that is leaking impossibility strong and aggressive monsters from the future/past as well as strange energy crystals, all causing a cataclysmic ecological collapse, while you are forced to find the unwilling AI of of the man/woman who wanted this to happen in the name of science" work?
+Sans The Skeleton B) it's much easier to hear with headphones. Didn't notice it at all the many times I watched Collide but as soon as I got the OST and heard it with headphones it was obvious.
Y'know even if the song wasnt called Oppa Toby Style, You'd still know that Toby Fox made this song, that piano at 4:43 is the most dead giveaway possible.
If you tap your finger (or foot or whatever), 1:22-1:28 has 16 taps. Knowing Toby, this could be a nod to Mother 3's musical combos where it maxes out at 16 pushes of the A button depending on the battle music.
@@melancholymaids3032 I'm in the middle of reading Homestuck so yeah I've heard that motif in Doctor now. It's interesting that Toby continued its used, or at least a similar melody, in CORE!
it cremated me. my ashes are all working together to create enough force to press the keys to type this comment which is actually a really impressive and difficult task seeing as they are literally tiny particles of my burnt body and weigh next to nothing on their own so be proud of them
