Perry Como has children and grandchildren that live in Granger and South Bend, Indiana. They staged a big Christmas program every year for many years. Perry use to visit his family here and he would go grocery shopping with his daughter. My dad knew his daughter from her being a customer and got to meet her dad one Christmas holiday.

Very interesting video. Both Perry Como and Bobby Vinton had television shows. I know Bobby had the nickname "The Polish Prince" They also use to call him "The Polish Elvis Pressley." They both were great singers and the ladies used to love them. I just looked Bobby up and he's still alive. He's 88 years old now. Thank you for all the digging you had to do for this video. If you ever find your way back to Canonsburg. You should stop in at the Sarris Candy Store and Ice Cream Shop. Sarris Candy, is a favorite in the Pittsburgh Area and beyond.

Two childhood favorites of this baby boomer. Perry Como is laid to rest not far from where I live down here in South Florida. Talk show host Mike Douglas is right around the corner from him.

Although Bobby Vinton was singing during my teen years, I loved Perry Como and his voice. So smooth.

Thanks for another interesting story. I just recently got a Perry Como Christmas album for $1. My parents had that album when I was growing up and I recently bought a record player. Should of held on to my records. The only ones I kept were the Monkees so that was a blast from the past listening to those. Bobby Vinton... cutie pie 🥰

Jordan, one other famous tidbit about Canonsburg is that not only is it America' small town Musical Capital, it also the hometown of Don Yenko and Yenko Chevrolet who took First Generation Camaros and tuned them up quite a bit by dropping a 427 under the hood as well as a few other goodies. If you have a true 1969 Yenko Camaro, you are quite lucky as those cars can go in the high 6 figure ranges. Highly desirable and collectable.

I used to go to that McDonald's regularly for breakfast. I would drop my wife off at her work, go to McDonald's, then go on to the shop. where i worked. I remember going inside McDonald's (once in awhile) and seeing the statues. They were a bit cartoonage looking.

Canonsburg, Pa. is also home to Yenko Chevrolet. If you are a muscle car fan, then you know they produced some of the most powerful and most sought after Chevrolet muscle cars of all time.

I loved listening to Perry Como back in the 1960's. Bobby Vinton was a teenage idol also. I think he was on American Bandstand, and also Annet Funicello's boyfriend on the movie, Beach Blanket Bingo. The Perry Como statue used to sing, but then it broke and was never fixed

My mom was from Canonsburg and her parents are buried next to Perry Como’s parents. Canonsburg had a lot of uranium buried there. The street next to my grandparents (Ash Street) had the houses torn down.

Perry Como was on the RCA Victor records label from 1943 to 1987. ⬅
