god I love the homeward ships design. its both blocky and sleek like would be expected of a true space ship. its more inspired by real world ships rather than airplanes unlike SC
Same. Between the Vagyr and the Hiigaran designs there's only a few I don't like. Favorites are the frigates (flak frigate in particular.) Would love to see some sort of rail gun frigate in SC someday.
I don't know why but for me the Hiigaran Interceptor is one of the prettiest ships designed in sci-fi. Not the most realistic, but one of the prettiest by far. And I could never figure out why it always felt like that to me.
The ship designs in the games are incredible. They are practical and deadly. They seem like the kind of ships people that had been spacefaring for millenia would design. Hiigaran BCs have damn near full coverage on every angle, and that's crucial for a slow ass ship
Galactica/MKII Jupiter Class-Battlestar would have to take the #1 Position in my good for best/most practical design, but the Hiigaran Battlecruiser is very close on that list.
I still think the Archangel Cruiser, especially with the right captain, would give the Hiigaran BC a run for it's money; it's forward array has no blind spots that the BC has, for starters. Along with the Jupiter Battlestar as mentioned. That said it's a very formidable ship.
@@fillianplays I have a few questions about the Hiigaran fleet, can the motherships orientation and positions be altered? can you dump resources out into space? and is there a way to make the mothership appear vulnerable to attack to lure in enemies?
@@brettglover135 Orientation cannot be altered in HW1/2 but can in the upcoming HW3. The mothership can move. Resources cannot be dumped into space. Appearing vulnerable is purely a PVP thing. You can dock all of your fighters and bombers inside the mothership at any time and to hyperspace jump. I've done things in the past where the Mothership gets attacked and then I launch 100+ bombers, fighters & corvettes while having my capital ships hyperspace into the area to ambush the enemy. Problem is it takes time to launch all of the small ships and a lot of resources to make that many ships hyperspace so it's better to keep a solid escort of frigates & capital class ships.
@@fillianplays well the reason I asked about ship rotation and making the mothership look like it's an easy target is I wanted to try and do the Marg Sabl closure maneuver from Star Wars.
@@fillianplays to my eyes, minor blips during transition between units are fine. But during the intro, and especially when you flip several name of the games are a bit disturbing. I'd suggest to simplify title by losing that flashing list, and just merging into a game/video title. Im no specialist, but i know some folk can be trigger thier condition by flicking or flashes.
@@deadwolf2978 You're 100% correct. Was trying to go for a Love/Death/Robots style intro for videos but I need to just get better at animating. Either way I think I'll start putting a flashing lights/seizure warning at the begging just in case.
