Excellent!!! Thank you. Friederich is pretty much my favorite guitar maker. It was sad to lose him last year. He left behind a legacy of fantastic classical guitars!
When we hear the sound of the 1965 which was his "basic" model (the Arpège) and the 1968 which was one model above (The Récital) one can wonder what they have less than the concert model! It is true that the Maestro said that he was "making experiments" with these 2 models and didn't take risks with the concert model. (Orféo magazine n°2 interview) Most of the Arpège and the Récital had Brazilian rosewood back and sides! In his catalog he stated that these woods dried for over 30 years before being used which means that in his guitars made in the 60's, the trees were cut more than 90 years ago.. In the hands of these exceptional artists, they deliver the best sound a guitar can produce. Thanks you Siccas for sharing!
I have a guitar from Christain Aubin model ROQUECAVE CENEVIERES. LOT no. 33. I have been to several Lutherans in the Netherlands. They all think it's a beautiful guitar. but no one knows this Chritian Aubin. but I think it is a special guitar. which is also worth a lot. I'm definitely not getting rid of it. it stays in the family. but is there anyone who can give me information about this guitar? Thanks in advance and looking forward to hearing from you, greetings Peter Lenior
Julie plays the lovely Gismondi piece very sweetly - thoughtful, emotionally engaged. The guitar is very fine supporting her - but, is there something amiss w/ the audio engineering? Artificial echoes? Brava, Federica - another impressive interpretation; one can almost see Goya's visions, tempered by a kind of empathy for humanity in your playing. Still - something odd in the audio... OK, I'll shut up & just listen. Thanks to all.
Sometimes you don't know whether you are hearing the sound of wood or crystal. I wonder if Daniel's knowledge was passed on to the next generation. Did he have apprentice worked with him?
