Riding the Honda CRF300L Rally on Slick Rock in Moab, Utah. Is the 300l a good adventure bike for Moab exploration? What about the 450L or Africa Twin? (Yes, I know Itchyboots rides this bike).
Slick rock is a fun technical ten-mile loop in Moab. I attempted to talk about the trail and the bike, but technical riding and talking proved challenging.

I miss that on mountain bike 20 yrs ago. It’s less frightening on a bike I think, as it only weighed 25th a or so. I remember the incredible grip on the slick rock, as long as your cadence was steady and your legs could handle it. And the sand in the dips that would suck all the momentum out of you.

A very engaging journey with you. Your camera angle was good throughout. Your heavy breathing helped to legitimize the effort. Your advise to others to be practiced for the challenges encountered were a good way of generating interest.

Great content, Dan! Check out Rekluse clutch for your CRF450.. eliminates the stalling. Fellow Tulsa native on WR450F, Tiger 1200, Street Triple, I'm sure we'll cross paths at some point!

Thanks for watching... I just rode today with a guy who has the Rekluse,(video out in a couple of days). I may have to go that route, but I'm cheap :)... Good bike collection you have going, our paths may indeed cross!

A buddy and I take 4x4's up to Moab every few years, this year we're taking our CRF250l's as well. I'd love to try this trail out, looks like Fins n Things but for 2 wheels.

I did Fins n Things as well. Fins has more sand. Slick rock has more off camber turns and steeper more frequent hills. They're both fun on the bike.

A buddy and I did either this trail or Fins n Things. He was on a WR250R, I was on a 250L. It was fun. I'm from Southern Oregon, we have nothing like this. It was fun to see something new. Hope you guys have a great time in Moab.

Speed/momentum is your friend, you have to trust the bike. Hesitation is deadly! I use an Anker USB 5,000 MaH brick and the original GoPro cable to power my GoPro, it will last all day long. It doesn't work with any other USB cable, has to be the original.....

Cool video. I really want to try this on the Africa Twin, but also am apprehensive about it. How much of it do you think you could do on on the AT?

There are a couple of spots where I would be extremely nervous on the AT… crazy off camber up and down hill turns… GoPro doesn’t begin to do it justice. if you could scout it on a little bike first I would recommend that. And have several friends incase you drop it…95% you could do on AT, but there are no bailouts that I saw, once your in, your in

Damn! The 300L was seriously impressive on a track like this. Were you on stock suspension and did you bottom out a lot?

Stock suspension, I did not bottom out much on this trail, as it is slow speed, technical. On faster trails, you will bottom out without a suspension upgrade.
