For the stuff with 3M red tape, you can peel the backing from the edge of each strip just enough so that it sticks out beyond the part and is reachable once the part is positioned. Then you can put it in place without sticking it down fully and reposition it more easily if you mess up. Once in place just pull the bits of the strips poking out slowly and they should come out easy enough. EDIT - just seen you have done this later on with the wind deflectors 😂

18:00 my theory: paper pieces go between the clip and the inside of the door so they dont get scratched. idk why there are so many though

FYI the door edge guard strips are supposed to fold around the edge of the door not go on just the outside of the door. Its so it protects the door if you open into something like a wall, car, etc...

It would have worked for me. I was able to take my factory one off without removing the boot collar. But I know that’s not how you do it. My boot collar was stuck. I had to take apart the trim

He installed the door protection wrong The reason why it has two pieces of backing is because you remove one half of it and put it on the outermost part of the door's edge and then fold it over into words the inner portion of the door so that it actually covers the edge
