Installing a brand new carpet in my car, and in a different color than the stock one. Please let me know what you think in the comments!!!😏 also this was my first time doing something like this to my car and it wasn’t that difficult, if I can do it... so can you!

A little constructive criticism lol......I used a soldering iron for the seat bolt holes and trim panels.burns clean with no tearing and makes a permanent hole that won't rip.

BIG MISTAKE removing OEM "Tarmats" on the floorboard. They are misunderstood they are not for sound deadning. Engineers designed them to Stiffen the Floorboard so when your driving on "Textured/ Gravel type roads Road vibrations work it's way through the chassis and you will feel it in the Floorboard at your feet. Stiffening the floorboard helps eliminate the vibrations at your feet. No amout of Butyl or Dynamat will make up for panel stiffening. Your gonna feel more vibration at your feet removing those OEM Tar mats even with Dynamat.

Alot of work, ive done it a couple times myself. With the bubble and parts that stick out, i used 2" velcro that i bought off Amazon and it works great to perfect the installation.

i think you did a pretty good job in fact it looks way better than it did before...i wonder if professionals use glue since most likely you won't have to do the same job again using glue might be the way to take care of the wrinkles...too many times in my life i've seen things going wrong when i cut corners...like the "green stuff" at the bottom of your car...i would've stopped right there to think why they had it there to begin with and i would've investigated it until i found out and then i would've proceeded with the job....but as you said it ....you are pretty happy with the results so...for me it was a learning experience...thanks for posting your video....

Dude the same thing happened to my 2003 Accord (no joke) because right after changing the oil, I still had some clean oil left in the gallon so I put it in behind my driver's seat. When someone cut me off (ATL traffic LOL) and I had to brake hard ASF, the cap got loose and oil was everywhere. I also had to cut my carpet and now I have to buy a new carpet. So that's how I came across your video. Cant believe the same thing happened to you.

u so good at removing \strip down the carpet .wish u were in CA. I need to do that for sound insulation .Outside charge 8hrs 800$ labor cost

In my country you can get it done for less than $10 (Carpet removal + Installation) :P

I have a 2000 Accord. Since I live in Alaska, I saw they offer vinyl or plastic replacement options rather than carpet. I'm debating on Vinyl or Plastic.

You are AMBITIOUS! Did you have to search for each hole and then cut it yourself in the carpet? It seemed like the carpet was "roughly" trimmed, like a draft trim, and then you had to finalize it?? You did an awesome job. I'm not sure I would have had the guts to follow it through that far. I can imagine uttering a few bad words while trying to get those front seats back in - and the part where you had to have your face in the brake pedal.

Thanks! The carpet came pre-molded to the flood plan of the car. Some parts were difficult and others were very simple. I had never done something like this before so I was learning as I went. It wasn’t too hard over all.

ok video - my favorite : its my car, gonna do it my way... Im gonna do one tomorrow, fixed sunroof leaks (also a pain) so want to replace musty carpet, found out they have a cabin air filter too so ill dismatel the dash while gutted -great engines runs well fix it

Just some basic tools really. Screw drivers, and sockets to take the seats out. Something to cut the carpet with, like a box cutter or something. That’s it in terms of tools .(unless I’m forgetting something)

go to the junk yard to buy seat . I needed the leather seat bottom cover for my 2001 accord that costs $550 dollars at honda . The junk yard wanted $10 dollars for the part ... I bought the whole passenger seat for $30 dollars !!!! and it looked like brand new . You could have also got the carpet at a junk yard

I literally JUST ordered a new carpet for my 02 civic from them what sucks about it is that my steering rack leaked oil through my pedals I’ve destroyed 3 pairs of shoes because it’s my daily driver

Very nice job & colour looks great. Let's hope you don't spill"white" paint. Do you think spraying some rust protector spray on the metal before the carpet would have been overkill on the rust protection?

Thanks for the vid. I seen these around but hesitated bc they didn’t have much reviews. But my current light colored carpets are so trashed, those wrinkles and nitpicky stuff don’t matter to me either. Plus the smell too. Quick question, does it have the foam stuff under it? Or is it just carpet.

I’m trying to change the carpet in a 98 due to flood waters but I can’t seem to finish getting the center console out can you maybe tell me what I’m doing wrong? I took the screws out of the sides and under the bottom of the trey but still won’t come up any ideas??

If I remember right, there are also hidden screws at the back bottom of the center console.

That One Channel I figured it out lol I had to pop off the middle pieces to the console to find them there were 2 hidden ones under there. I got the ones that were hidden in the back

What if you removed the carpet right away instead of cutting it? Once outside the car you could use heavy duty cleaners, pressure washer, and as much water as you want. Motor oil ought to come out of synthetic carpet?

Figured it would be more worth it to replace it. The stock carpet was almost 20 years old at that point.

Did you choose black, or was that the only color available? Doesn't look bad, I would have put the original (or close to) color back in. Brighter, and wouldn't absorb heat like the black. But still, nice job. Thanks!

Hell yea. I want to sound proof my car so bad but I live in an apartment and don't have room to have all my seats n stuff outside my car for long. I might soundproof my doors and some spots in the trunk, maybe under the hood but can't be ripping my whole interior out
