As addressed in the other comment, while this feature has been offered for many years, the "mass market" is still unaware of this feature. Spread the word and thanks for watching!
I bought a 2019 Honda Accord and i love it. And people please put locks on your factory rims because thieves will steal them. Yes Accord Sport factory rims....
9th Gen Accord hi. I've been subscribed to your channel for a long time.. but I recently sold my V6 Accord. It had many issues. Had to go back to Nissan.😎
Also, to turn off your auto high beams, turn the car on, turn head lights to auto, then pull back on the stick turning your hi beams on manually for roughly 40 sec. you will see a light turning it off
First off, congrats on your purchase! I hope you are enjoying your Accord. I loved the car. If it does not have the circle, you will not have remote start. For 2018, I believe the Accord Sport 2.0T, Accord EX-L, and Accord Touring were the models that came equipped with remote start. However, you can add it aftermarket. It was essential when I had the car because I lived in Boston and Denver.
@@hunalejandro this is my second Honda Accord. The last one I had had for almost 12 years before jiffy lube did a bad oil change (they really messed it up and shorted me some oil - never take your car there, they don't care and keep trying to upsell you on things you don't need.) and this was right before we had the horrible freeze couple years back, and the engine seized up due to lack of oil. It was more cost-effective to buy a new car then buy a new engine. I love my new Honda! It has features, of course, that my old one didn't, but that remote start would be great to have.
@@NettersNetwork Sorry to hear about your last Accord. But I’m happy something good came out of it. You have a newer and much safer Accord. Extra bonus, it has more options and features than before. Thanks for watching my video.
I discovered anti-lockout back when I had a 2016 accord. My friends and I took a trip to walmart, we put everything in the trunk, I shut it, and then it makes that beep and pops it back open. I kept thinking it was because we crammed the trunk too full and i'm sitting there like a damn idiot repeatedly trying to close this trunk and rearrange things. After maybe 20 minutes I finally realized it was because the spare keys were in my jacket inside the vehicle.
You would think this is a no brainer feature for all brands, but when I had BMWs, they didn’t even offer this feature. You are SOL if you leave them in trunk or even inside vehicle.
hunalejandro let me specify since your so hostile over your video I was meaning the auto down windows from the key fob and the auto lock out I wasn’t trying to come for your video and I actually liked it but your such a jackass cause other people was being negative to you video learn that every time someone say or type something it’s not meant to come for you
My 2014 Accord has the #4 function perform by holding the lock button twice rather than sticking the physical key. I'm pretty sure this one has it too. Somebody try & let know?
i have had my EX for about just 2 months. I have about 4K on it. It is a nice car, kinda wished I got the EX-L. Oh well. It is fun to drive, have to know the limitations of the 1.5T. Is quick when it is spooled up, otherwise stay in your lane! I'm not fond of the factory tires. Not in a hurry to buy new ones, but different tires would make a lot of difference in the driving mannerisms. It wants to hang corners and off ramps. Oh yeah, the audio system in the EX is weak. No power. You notice it when driving with the windows down and the sunroof open. Very disappointing.
Congrats on the new car! I'm glad you are enjoying it overall. I agree, it is pretty fun to drive. I think the 2.0T is a better match, but I can understand why one would choose the 1.5T. I'm easily able to keep up with entry level luxury sport sedans, but it has it's limitations. A good set of summer performance tires would take this car to the next level. I've noticed the Honda brand in general gets the short end of the stick when it comes to audio. I'm not sure how to fix it.
Haha good question. I believed it's designed that way to avoid accidental opening of the trunk. If you press the wrong button, sit on your keys, etc. Hope you are enjoying your vehicle!
Hey, thanks for watching my video. These are the instructions straight from the owners manual of a 18 Accord. Enjoy the feature! To turn on this feature, follow these steps with vehicle stopped and the power mode set to ON: 1. From the HOME screen, select Settings. 2. Select Vehicle. 3. Select Door/Window Setup. 4. Select Walk Away Auto Lock. 5. Select On.
I don’t even own a Honda, but co signed on my gf’s (well I guess I do technically own it if the car is in my name as well) but NONE of these are hidden. Everyone that didn’t know about any of these CLEARLY didn’t read the owners manual. Ignorance is not always bliss.
While it has been a feature on Hondas for a number of years, in my experience the majority of Honda Owners are unaware of this goodie unlike us car guys/gals. My main objective was to spread the word of features that don't see the spotlight too often. Thank you for watching and leaving valuable feedback.
honestly, it's pretty standard on many makes. My '15 Fusion and '09 Mazda6 did the exact same thing with the keyfob. (hold down unlock button to open all windows). Nice video btw, I have this car in still night pearl and love it.
True. Many car manufactures have a similar version, my BMW that I traded in also had this feature but worked slightly different (did not have to insert key to roll windows up). I've been working in the auto industry for the past 5 years and the majority of consumers still don't know about this feature. I always demo this with my clients if equipped.
Your wish is my command. When started remotely, the engine automatically shuts off after 10 minutes of idling and/or the brake pedal and ENGINE START/STOP button have not been pressed simultaneously. To extend the run time for another 10 minutes during the first run, press the lock button, then press and hold the remote start button. Some exterior lights flash six times if a 10-minute extension request was transmitted successfully.
Great question, when you opt for the Accord Sport 1.5T (step above base LX trim), this includes 19-inch alloy wheels, Sportier exterior accents, Sport-tuned suspension, Larger front disc brakes,8-inch multimedia system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter, An eight-way power driver's seat with four-way power lumbar, etc. Opting for the Accord Sport 2.0T includes all of the above features and also add features that make it equivalent to the higher EX Trim. Such as, satellite/HD radio, moonroof, remote start, heated front seats, Rear-seat air vents, blind spot warning system with rear cross-traffic alert. I hope this helps in your journey to find the perfect Accord.
hunalejandro yes thankyou I cant wait to get my hands on mines thankyou so much for your feedback I will keep u posted! Keep up the great videos subbed and liked 💙
I don’t know of the other specifications stated under the 2.0T, but I have seen several 1.5T with moonroof and remote start on RU-vid. I stand to be corrected however!
That's awesome. Most of the new technology comes to Acura first because they are the luxury division. However for the Accord it's a newer feature and many don't know it's built in. I just want to bring awareness to this features.
BIG Bzz This is actually a 2.0T, 10 speed automatic,Sport model. A couple giveaways is the black front grille, the wheels, and the lack of chrome exterior accents. The Touring wheels are more sedate, I like how the Sport wheels standout.
No the ex trim has 17" wheels not the 19". The touring has 19" and different wheels. You can purchase the black or chrome rims for the 19" models but that's an extra 2500. Not worth it IMO. The touring wheels have grown on me and look classy. Get compliments on them all the time.

@@blackhawks1870 No problem buddy. I hope you are enjoying your new car! I have a 1.5T for a loaner now and it's not bad at all. You are correct the LX and Sport 1.5T does not come with the walk away feature. It starts at the Ex 1.5T and above.
That's great Pedro. The new Civics are awesome and when you get a higher than base trim, come well equipped. Many people dont refer to their owners manual or settings in their vehicle so I'm bringing to the forefront those "hidden features".
@@hunalejandro I got a 2017 touring civic spent all afternoon messing with everything love my car lol going to trade it in for a accord once I pay off my civic
@@shinigami45-k4b don't get an accord if you have a civic lol, unless youre die hard honda. go for the type s or a proper sports sedan. no hate, I have a 19 Accord sport lol
Thanks for the feedback. I hate the sound of my voice and being on camera, so I was trying to spare everyone. I'm growing as a person and that will reflect in my channel.
Your moms Boyfriend I agree, he gave me a condensed delivery, but wouldn’t that make it hidden to me because I didn’t know about it? They are not exactly features in plain sight such as heated seats or paddle shifters. Thanks for watching bro!
None of these features are “hidden.” Reading the owners manual will help you know the features of your car. They took the whole key thing from BMW and it’s been a feature for years now. All of this is explained in the owners manual. Don’t you people read up on your new cars?
Sir, I dont believe your 2008 Accord from factory came with a smart key that offers remote start, walk away lock feature, push button start, digital tachometer, etc. Many of these features are new to you. Thanks for watching.
@@hunalejandro 🤔 Remote start was added as a factory option in 2008 I have since then switch to a better aftermarket system, pretty sure my car locks itself after 30 seconds I've owed it since new
@@Highgear145 If it was an option, it definitely wasn't built into the key. I never seen an Accord key with a blade also have remote start. It would've been a clunky secondary fob. Walk away auto lock is a little different. Once I walk about 8 feet away from the car, the vehicle senses the key is not within proximity and therefore locks versus a time elapse lock.
LOL! And you are trolling around on YT on Accord pages. Yeah right kid. What are you 15? Pick a different car rather than ones that spends more time in the shop than on the road and you will be more believable.
Pablo Herasme Thanks for watching and commenting Pablo. You are correct, Camry is still equipped with a six cylinder. Other than a more pleasing sound, there are no major advantages. The Accord is slightly faster, gets slightly better fuel economy, and weighs less which translates to a more dynamic drive. Nowadays, it’s about doing more with less.
hunalejandro vise versa. The accord has no major advantages over the Camry. The V6 adds character that turbo 4 can’t have. Yes the accord maybe the overall better car, but the Camry has certainly close the gap dangerously close to it.
Pablo Herasme I can totally agree with that statement. Very well said. There are other advantages, but not regarding powertrain. Such as the Accord offers LED headlights, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto standard. It has more rear legroom and more trunk space, but still weights less.
