Took my Dad's 2017 Honda Africa Twin out to the track with OPRT level 2 group on 7-3-22 and got to play around with a few sports bikes. She handled herself well!
This is a great video for scoping out the track for someone not on a sport bike. I wanna take my sleeper harley up to The Ridge since I live only 2 hours a way and see what it can really do on the track. This video is great because you have similar acceleration and speed. Very good view of the track itself. I appreciate the video!
Absolutely take your baby out to the track, you won't regret it. There's no better way to learn your bike than a few sessions out there. Super welcoming too with different levels. You'll see all sorts of bikes out there. My personal favorites are seeing the Goldwings and the Vespas haha
Great footage, thank you. I'm looking at a 2024 AT currently and hoping they'll come with the supercharger - we'll see. You certainly have her carving up those corners - a real treat to think it is a large trail bike eating some of those sports bikes in the corner with your exceptional lean angles. Way to go!!
Wow m8, very nice driving, you know how to handle her. They rookies or not, takes skill either way to drive like that. You shift 2 or 3 times as much as the other bikes an those leans what a treat to watch. I got an AT, and i only ever liked all road bikes so much fun to she what they're capable off even on a track. Still got loads to learn myselve but very impressive to see whats possible. Cheers
Running 2:04s and 5s. Couldn’t get a lap without battling traffic. Scraped pegs on both sides pretty much every corner lol no after market parts, box stock all around.
Want an AT but am reluctant to trade my 2013 CB1000R for one because my CB is totally sorted with Ohlins, PCV, decat etc and it’s faster than my 2010 Blade was on track, but I want to do the miles and have room for luggage and pillion etc. having watched this it’s another tick in the AT box for sure. The AT has come such along way since it’s re-release. Epic riding BTW. Just shows you what’s possible with one of these.
I’ve owned a 2010 fire blade and I can confidently say I had more fun on the twin than I did on the blade. It was a great bike and I loved it but I can ride the twin all day and put her through the wringer for 6 hours and still feel fresh as I did when I first got on. 90 minutes on the blade and I’m cramping up. The twin isn’t great at one thing but it’s good at everything is how I like to put it.
