Bike does a big difference though. i crashed my bike and rented an ex super sport afterwards and was after two laps already 5 seconds faster than i did on my own which could do the same lap times easily.

You mean the same corner speed as an R1 that was caught behind slower traffic.

I think KTM has had a hard on for Al and Chris for years, they're exactly the type of guys they want riding their bikes.

Have to admit though like the small bike racing, and being up against the tiny Jockeys that weigh nothing soaking wet, is quite fun to be around and watch... as it makes more difference than the liter styles.

Probably gonna be a whole bunch of "Ducatistas" with all the carbon body, titanium bits n carbon wheels. I've noticed that 99% of the folks who show off n brag about all the weight saving bits n aero on their bikes r the worst on track. They also happen to be the ones that rely more on the electronics saving them than honing one's own skill. There's gonna be a random dude on a raggity old S RAD with bits hanging/fallen off who's gonna come in, put out some mental laptimes n go home.

I've got a new 1290 SAS. It wasn't cheap and I'd be afraid of throwing it away on the track.

@@motorbiketoureruk novice checkong in here. I've done track days on powerful bikes, tried keeping up. Didnt learn much. Rode my own pace, had a blast and learned with each lap....and got faster

Not really. You could beat most a group riders on a 250

Would make it quite similar to the Supermoto concept just with a bigger bike. Loads get upset.
