All in all, I think I have to go with the Honda. More comfortable to ride, more reliable, and almost as fast. The Yamaha DEFINITELY takes the cake for being maximum 80s. What do you think?
The Yamaha is more of a straight away and jumping type. Where the honda shines is more off road. When it came to the grand pre it was the slow and steady who won the race. But I am liking the Yamaha.
At one point, my family had 5 atc 70s, 1 200sx, a Tecate, and a 250r. I love atcs, last 2 I had were an 84 250r, and an 85? 350x. miss riding my death machines that scared most "men"
@@Tshizzle42o I think it sounds ok definitely a little low on compression but the bottom end noise you're talking of sounds more like the clutch clanking to me. Engine doesn't seem to play up when the noise happens and only seems to be on idle. Piston rings and maybe weak reeds. I think bottom end would have gone by the end of the video with the ragging he gave it.
Memories old memories I still have scars on the back of my calf from when I had a racing Honda 2-stroke 3-wheeler that was some fun days. So how many others here have scars on the back of their calfs???? Lol love the channel please keep up the great work and keep the videos coming....
riding these things looks like a ton of fun ^^ and thank you for your content, you guys really helping me out with those honda st 70 videos, i'm planning to fix the same engine in some time ^^
Awesome lads! Great content as usual. You’s should maybe think about a budget build off with some cheap trikes or atv’s. And make a finale vid something like this one. Popular content at present.
I think one of the downsides of the Yamaha is that it doesn't have a proper clutch. It's really not that big of a deal on the Honda because four strokes make plenty of low down power.
Great stuff, guys! When I was 10 years old my mom bought a brand new 1985 Honda 200s just like that. I started on a Honda 110, moved up to the 200s, then a Honda 200x, a Honda xr200 dirt bike and ended up with a Honda xr600r dirt bike in my early 20's. Seeing the old 200s sure brings back some memories! I like the Honda much better than the Yamaha but I'm a little biased! LOL!
Just got my yt 125 tri moto back up and running than I got to get the other yt125 running but i do agree I like Honda stuff more but the 125 is fun to rip
I recently got bit by the 3 wheeler bug. I went from never owning one to having 5 of them in the last couple months. Got all of them running and a few of them drivable. Mostly tires, cables, carbs, and tanks. All set for years and years and ran with little work. I want a 200x next.
@@kyhillbillys10 oh i know all about how to hurt yourself on three wheeler, those atc250rs are crazy fast, it just sounded like you were insulting, thats why i asked
When I was a kid we had one of those 3 wheel death machines. Honda ATC250ES big red with electric start and reverse. Also had a kick start back up in case electric didn't work. It was a sweet ride.
Pretty cool you guys still have those classics. I've always been partial to the hondas. As a boy my uncle bought a new tri moto and I hated it as a kid. Loud, uncomfortable and no fun (for a kid) to ride. I also have always thought they're ugly too. My first wheeler was in the late 80's and it was a 1984 Honda 125M...I loved that little machine. Good video guys.
Had a new185s in 1984. Remember the back end trying to pass the front end going fast over bumps. Traded up to a 250SX and still have it. A buddy had the Trimoto. It didnt like the water at all.
That tri moto sounds like it's working Soo hard ! Be nice to really restores these gett them running perfect. Love seeing the three wheelers, had one as a kid 👌🏼🙌🏼
Thanks for the nostolgia guys! I grew up riding 3ws like Rhonda all over the hills of PA with friends. Couple things that came back were how you had to basically slide your butt all the way on the opposite fender to take full speed turns without 2-wheelin and right as your back wheels are going into the jump you hop on the pegs and shove your heels down so you get extra lift from the shocks/bouncy tires. Just make sure to pull back a little on the handles in the air so the back end doesn't lift. Landing on the front wheel is a cookie toss for sure. LMAO.
@@ricochetey I agree though the hi/low on the es models is something I wish I had, I converted mine to a mud trike she's sitting on 27"silverbacks so she has a bit of a tough time in the peanut buttery stuff but does alright still love it!
I have a scar across my right hand from going through brambles... I've always worn gloves since, not particularly bad of a cut, but they don't half sting if they get caught in your knuckles 👊... Loving the trike content 👍
broke my arm on a three-wheeler as a kid, one week later they outlawed their sale. I remember as a 10 year old looking at my cast on my arm after hearing the news.
Hahahahahaha how freaking cool!!!! I still have my 84 110 ATC and it runs like a champ. I rebuilt the carb in July and replaced the fuel lines, and that's it other then the occasional oil change. My kids love riding which is the coolest part.
I had both those bikes growing up back in the day at different times of course I think they’re equally as fun my comment was before watching your video
I had a Trimoto 125. Honda Big Red couldn’t touch it. And my brother put a cylinder, piston, and head from a YZ125 on it. Got 65mph out of it then. But it ran hot.
😂👍👍 Owned both models basically from new and yes Sir's the Yamaha is top end the Honda has being a 4 stroke of course is for the deep woods and rocks. I know my Honda 110 and 125 had low and high range transmissions which made rock challenges like that a breeze LMAO! I know I owned the 110/125 at the same time to compare the slight difference in power the 125 was a couple years newer so it was better refined over the 110 I remember the 125 was a 85 - 110 83. The Honda 200s was a 84 and Yamaha 2 stroke a 83 I believe. BUT I didn't have the 2 bigger ones to compare myself! Only took me 30 yrs into the future to finally get the hard truth answers I've been pondering since my youth! Lol Love this stuff guy's, it really never gets old!
nice video guys. i think you should put some less aggressive tires on the back of the yamaha and itll be a whole different animal. you can drift it easily if not for the big carlisle mudders. be more fun
Man I’ve been watching you guys for so long and I’ve always had atc’s. Semi recently I finally picked up a couple mini bikes and now you guys want to start riding atc’s!!!! Well at least I have both now too
