Guest Tester, Mark Orchard and Dave Hatch take a look at Honda's interesting Big Ruckus. For everything motorcycle, visit our web site at www.motorcycleexperience.ca
Cool bike. But the sad news is that I've talked to a dealer he said that he has never heard of the big Ruckus and assumes that Honda discontinued its production. I think it's a very handy bike for all occasions.
I had one of these, I used to take it on very long rides, it had no problem doing 80 miles an hour. I got around 80 miles per gallon. They stopped making these a l few years back.
In the UK the 50cc version is a Zoomer and I always though they were so much cooler that the plastic covered scooters that are so popular. I wish we had have had these too.
Long review...and nothing of any significance said concerning the focus of video, the 'Ruckus 250'. (wtf does RV parks have to do with the Honda? They're both 'having a piss' at Hondas' expense...which is odd considering that without Honda, there would be NO 'motorcycle industry' to speak of)
The back rest looks splayed back too far but the rolling seat seems like genius. The strap bars could be 2 and a half inches more ambitious. It seems less purposeful if you can't find knobbies for it. Cute enough.
Probably should’ve had a heavier/taller rider try it also so we can get a perspective all the way around on it. I’m still looking at buying one the in the used market. I also think for the money the Honda helix is a nice bike
I just ordered an Amigo Rover 150 and it kind of looks like this. I have been searching youtube for videos but can't find any. I did find a scooter called the SSR Rowdy (1 video) that looks almost identical. Where are they at? I thought they were supposed to be real popular.
I am kicking myself for not buying this when I had the chance. The Big Ruckus was being sold used in cherry condition at a local dealership I was perusing. I didn't know enough about it so I just passed it by. After doing some research, I am disappointed that all I got to do with it was sit on it. If only I could have taken it home before someone else did. :(
The anchor keeps talking over the motorcyclist and he doesn't know what he he's talking about. The anchor kept talking about how smooth a ride it was and the various features all while the actual rider kinda stood there all awkward.
Despite a high power endorsement of the Big Ruckus, it was a big flop, in comparison, the Rucks 49cc continues to be a unique and fun experience riding for most who have it. This was not a marketing flop...it was too much...a design flop, because the ruckus is cute and unique and the Big Ruckus is grotesque and ugly...look in a picture dictionary under ugly scooter and you will see it! Cushman scooters, tho boxy were still more attractive than this thing!
I really like it , to bad they didn't produced more , i would of bought one, but as it it there's not enough to find parts. It not supposed to be a fast sports bike, but a utility bike. And i really like the utility look.
