for those asking about buying these intakes,, the manufacturer of them stopped making them,, so instead you can dremmel away the plastic to open up the existing intakes.. same outcome,,, 5hp boost, with this alone, not really sure about that.. maybe with a remap you can get there,,, but any hp boost from this alone would be worth it for so little work... running leaner maybe save on the mpg's also..
This video amazed me and made me think that my 2019 Honda CB500X may have the same intake which will reduce the power of the motor a lot. So I took out the air filter and tried to get out the intake. But impossible! What I saw then was that the intake is fully open and straight. So I know now that the aluminum intake shown on your video wouldn't help anything to increase the power of the motor. Behind all this is a European law which limits the power of motorbikes for newbies to 35 kWh. So many big bike producers had to offer a limited version of the normal bikes in order to fit to this driver license class A. In Asia (I assume) the big bikes always come without power reduction as made in the factory. I am living in Thailand...
Hi, I have just contacted the maker of these, who advised he doesn't make them any more as they are no longer restricted. So for my 2916 model would make no difference. Suppose I will have to take a closer look. Either way, I can't buy them.
2017 and 2018 (PN 38770-MJW- DZ1 and DK1) ECUs needs a remap, throttle opening limiter removal, A00 snorkel and quick throttle grip for complete derestriction. The gain is 5HP but some tweaks with ignition and intake snorkel could increase it bit more.
@@hex_surfer4588 Hi, it's worth it just deleting snorkel and installing this items?? Because in Spain is very restricted remapping anything. For a 2017 cbr500r, Thx!
the original intake has a little slope on the inside that kind of restricts the airflow, by removing the slope as well as having a straight funnel instead of curved, you get better airflow. or you could just take out the funnels you have and dremmel off the slope since i cant seem to find these funnels shown in the video.
It would have been nice if you would have narrated what exactly you were doing when putting the new ones in, it seems you were having trouble getting the in their correct position?
Hey, great videos!! Thanks! Couldn’t believe how restricted the intake is when you show the plastic intake. Could you share where did you get those aluminum ones please?
@@zsinormotors is there a part number so we can search for it on the internet or our local Honda deallers? I am from Brazil and couldnt found it anywere....
@@rodrigocebola8231 Part numbers are: 17251-MGZ-A00 - FUNNEL, L. AIR; 17252-MGZ-A00 - FUNNEL, R. AIR. I got mine from partzilla, they're a bit different compared to the ones in this video.
Original ones in this video are I believe the ones that go into EU models where there's an A2 license restriction. They're a bit blocked on the inside, ordered US ones that are fully open. Just not sure whenever you should do any remapping.
@@kiliankollegger5692 late but it means to adjust fuel air ratio on the ecu fuel map. Need to do it every time you mess with air intake exhaust or fuel to protect ur engine and make use of the extra preformance
