Seriously 👍🏻 With the options & styles of bikes available today..... anyone who has the budget for this bike, im sure they are definetly thinking the same
Not just price but you will change your mind if you go thru what features these bikes (MY22 CB500X, Benelli TRK 501, Versys 650, 390 Adv and Interceptor 650) offer to end user
1.Dual disk plates in the front equals better braking. 2. Better seat cushioning and pillion comfort. 3. Big bike road presence . 4. 20 litres of fuel capacity best in class. 5. Best value for money proposition. Benelli trk 502 is best choice for me in given choices.
And also the 2 lkhs saved could be used for its maintainance & service... Though its significantly highr than the Honda but u have saved 2lkh... I think that would last for coming 8-10 years yorth of maintainance if you owned it till thn.
Kawasaki parts r also little more expensive than the Honda but u can always get it when you want. I wish Benelli had the same easy availability of parts... That thing looks damnn sexy
Though I don't support the price justification but Honda engines are at par with anything else in market. I own a Honda Shine 125cc and the engine reliability was never a complaint heck even when I was pulling it at 95kmph on full throttle for straight 2 hours at Delhi Agra expressway in the months of May-june. I know it's a small bike, but the engine proves it's the part of the same legacy.
Will wait for 650 Himalayan... Now even RE will take the 650 Himalayan more seriosly... Honda just gave them free headroam....😂😂 Congrats Honda...Another selfgoal ..👏👏👏👏
@@bineesh7341 yeah but Honda is also 199 kgs.. It not a light bike.. Honda is grossly overcharging here. If u watch western reviews you'll know its a very medeocre bike for very basic use. Also 199 kg for a bike which has the engine as stressed member of the chassis means u cannot treat it like the himalayan... And why is there a single downtube chasis bike for 500 cc twin cylinder engine. And also why is it so heavy? Means they used heavy steel instead of non high strength steel or any light and strong alloys...
@@skg901 you are right...must always remember it's a CB series - means commuter bike as per honda terms. No wonder it's a very very average bike in the west. It's unnecessarily over priced here..really sad :/
@@skg901 You cannot say Honda is overcharging because we know the price of the Ninja 400. In CKD this happens. The single cylinder Himalayan weighs 200 kg and this is twin cylinder 500cc. Below 200kg is not over weight in ADV segment.
235kg for Benelli is not more as it seems... coz it include the weight of crash guard and other protection kit... If u add them to all other bike they also weigh more than 220-230kgs
500X: Fully featured, can be used for office commute, supermarket rides, touring, easy on maintenance. Versys 650: Strictly touring and offroading, more power compared to 500X, have good road presence, heats fast if running in city, little costly on maintenance when compared.
Hey dude.. how do you find the ride quality riding it in the city and highways? Too stiff or uncomfortable? I have my eyes on the 390 but suspension seems too stiff..
Hi Shantnu, yea the first 200 KM's you will feel stiff... Like you will feel every pothole in your back... Later it you will start standing at the bigger pot holes.. If you are looking for a better suspension bike..then it's the BMW 310 gs
Agree just coz it's priced on par with Versys doesn't necessarily mean it's that good...Honda needs to make them in India and beat Benelli trk in terms of price and package...till then best of luck to Honda India management and to us with new activaG...
The motor on 390 is rough but the Honda's parallel twin is smooth and the main reason of the bike is effortless adventure touring which the 390 is not a great pick
@@akhilpalla1997 The adventure name plate is more to do with marketing, both motorcycles are soft roaders, GT would be more accurate name. But it's asking price for that spec is a big fail. Honda is always on top when comes to refinement and durability but also remember it will be sold via bigwing, which right now has less footprints on the Indian map.
@@mostlybasic ofcourse coz one might not use these vehicles for commuting. Overtaking vehicles on highway, top inclined road, off-road trail (uphill) who doesn't want acceleration and power? 390s low end can be fixed with smaller teeth sprocket which won't cost u another 4lakh atleast 😁
is it possible to get any spares of this CB500X easily atleast for next 15 years? It should not happen that after spending heavily, you need to keep ur bike idle for its parts unavailability.
When the Versys FINALLY gets a real update and remains around the same cost, it will be the choice for those wanting more highway and touring capabilities than the 500X. Right now though they are very comparable value for money.
I’ll pick Kawi if I have that kind of budget.. Its better road presence, higher power/torque and my limited off-roading requirement make it the best of the lot for me..
I still find KTM practically more value for money.. Not doubt Benelli 502 amazing tech and road presence but on the downside its massive spare part and service cost cant be ignored....
Royal Enfield Himalayan , Ducati Multistrada , Triumph Tiger 900 , Yamaha Tenere 700 , BMW G310GS , Harley Davidson Pan America & Suzuki V-Storm are also it's compitators as they also ADVs .
In PD (Shumi) comment, I told the same, if you check international reviews, value for money for better equipment, and asking price, 390 is more favourable. Even international it is double the price of 390adv with fewer features as compare to 390adv.
Suggest that in order for all the bike enthusiasts out there especially looking for a dual purpose beast.... A detailed review of honda cb500x, ktm 390 adventure, Benelli trk 502x, bmw 310gs, versys 650, all together less on tarmac are more on what could actually bash these machines to their limit...... Let's gets real and practical about the market and show manufacturers their standing and let people take their decision
I am keen to explore 500x But I am worried about parts availability for the next 7 years all over India. Wud love to hear from Africa twin or other big wing honda users about how honda India big bikes division has treated them in the past. I know that The activas and hornets have been treated well
Finding adventure 390 is value for money if you aren't a serious tourer/off roader, waiting for that so called ride which happens only if work permits. After an year or 2 when parts wear adv390 will also be pocket friendly too.
Tell Honda to choose between Greedy, close the shop, go home (like the Harleys) OR be a proper competitor in 2W market in India... This bike won't sell regardless how good it is. Honda have already experienced this in sales figures of CBR250R and it's the time to learn lessons fron your own mistakes 🙄🙄
people at Honda thinks we are in awe of Honda Cars and Bikes, they re-launched Civic at 30+ Lacs, today they are almost on the verge of shutting down the production of Civic, a 47 Ps Bike on road for 7.50 Lacs, spend Lac and a Half one is in the zone of Triumph and Ducatis or the V Strom.
Either KTM for its WOW package and performance or the Kawasaki for its bigger engine performance. Benelli has only the price advantage amongst these two, apart from which its nearly a dead brand in India with its less sales and poor network. Iff Honda can get the price right like Benelli then we will have a new winner
Benelli TRK 502x (Rs.5.19-5.29L ex-showroom)will have upperhand on recently launched Honda cb500x (Rs.6.87L ex-showroom) as far as price is concerned. Honda cb500x international price hower around $6600 (appro. Rs. 4.78L) , but it has launched in India with so much expensive price band. I was expecting for Honda cb500x launch around Rs. 5.50L (ex-showroom), but truly disappointed. Benelli TRK 502x would be next alternative option but it is heavier appro. by 40kg than Honda cb500x.
BMW G 310 GS would be my pick over all of these motorcycles. The 390 adventure has a very stiff suspension setting, which makes long distance touring very uncomfortable. The others are not worth the money.
Gives more room to Bajaj to raise 390 adventure prices. Still the question is, whether CB500x is 2 times the bike that 390 is? Or for that matter, the G310GS even?
Honda Vs Benelli 502 , thats the perfect comparo (500cc, similarly specced) & Now that the BS6 TRK 502x is just launched , I dont see any reason for the Honda to be better .
The Suzuki Vstrom 650 should have been in this list. But from this video the KTM Adv 390 wins hands down!!! Best electronic aids, awesome value. The honda strenght is reliability but the Ktm wins easily.
I already have a TRK502 and I was waiting for Honda 500cc cruiser. And this cb500x tells me that the cruiser won't be easy on pockets either... disappointed with Honda. Pandemic seems to be screwing everything
@@sreebabu6 Well it's power to weight ratio is worst in class. And then again Chinese reliability and build quality. The BMW 310 gs is about as fast between 0-130 for half the price and is like 65 kgs lighter. Then the ktm 390 adventure is actually faster than your bike in almost every aspect except top speed. So your bike isn't bad but it's very expensive for the performance and the heavy weight can pose a problem if you go off road as its a very top heavy bike. But if you keep it on road it's a good tourer. Perfect mile muncher for long tours
@@sreebabu6 hi Buddy, it not only weight. Its overall all fit finish of the bike. I had 600i and every now and then had to face issues with the bike however in my Z900 I never had any issue in last 3years.
I like the KTM 390 adventure I would love to buy it, Is there any update on KTM 390 adventure bike wil it get low seating options ? Iam 5.3” Iam riding 250 duke comfortably will you plz find out from ur sources. Thank you
6.8L ex showroom is a no brainer? I’m sick of these stupid comments that don’t take the most obvious things into account. I get the the Honda has the quality and refinement but asking for 6.8L ex is retarded. I wouldn’t pay a rupee over 5.5 on-road for the Honda.
Ktm 390 adv is best if u r taking it out of the tarmac roads.....parts r cheaper to replace and bike is easier to maintain while all the time offering u good power and torque, benelli trk if the weight was a bit less would have been a good choice, honda no way man never.
Missing the whole point of an adv. Benelli is not at all tractable and needs to be revved hard. Which will return less mileage than even the versys. Honda is known for refinement and once you buy it you need not worry about it giving you sudden problems in the middle of the road. Plus it more tractable than the versys offroad and trk.
please focus to benelli trk!. this has been snfican more valuable to own.. the proof is more delivery this brand to customer in europe/ asia pacific. benelli proof now to be next brand to watch
Benelli main issue is the massive weight and poor power to weight ratio. I would rather buy a slighly used Versys 650 over a Benelli TRK 502. Lighter and much more power along with better reliability.
Yes. They run on regular alloy wheels. The KTM is just a Duke with higher suspension. Its got the same engine in the same state of tune. Not a true ADV.
Really disappointed by Honda... it is Such a Money greedy company...for its Thailand made and an average class motorcycle.. they kept a whooping price Above 7.5L ..... really not at all worth... surely very much over priced huuuuuge ....
Indian market is not like American...these companies think a lot while launching a product with a price tag...this bike must be only for a serious few die hard Honda fans, which the company must be aware off..... here we are way too price conscious.... Indians are better off with Activas and CB350
First, I was waiting for Honda CB 500X but I am not going to be fooled by a bike this costly, by Honda which would cost me around ₹ 7.5 lacs or more, on road and that too naked! If I need to put adventure touring related accessories, would it go beyond ₹8 5 lacs!!!??? Bullshit pricing, whatever their reasons might be. I would rather wait for few months, for KTM 490 adv (I found KTM 390 adv, bit short of my expectations though it's terrifically priced bike, purchasing wise and maintenance-wise). Otherwise too, there isn't much conducive environment to roam around due to sheer Covid infection spread, across the country at least for next 5-6 months! To my mind, it's absolutely foolish to pay what Honda is asking for this bike, absolutely foolish!!!! It's the similar arrogance which absolutely killed Harley Davidson in India. Honda may not be finnding itself strictly on that trajectory but this level of greed would show Honda CB 500X, it's true place, downright and blunt.
On road price of honda cb500x Wil be equal to versys 650. Better go for KTM 390 adventure. Someone please request Royal Enfield to get a Himalayan 650 having the same power of interceptor 650.
Why not ? The KTM Adventure 390 and the Honda 500x are competitors around the world. Many journalists actually prefer the far better specked KTM over the barebones Honda.
Honda's price is not practical...390 adventure is 95 percent of what honda is at less than half rate ...a second hand verseys also makes better sense than honda ....Trk is good but it needs to shed some weight and a bit of that overbearing beak ..
People who want that big bike feel, with that sound and refinement coupled with the brilliant wind protection, I think it’s a good option for those who can afford the spare parts and service.
@@Vedant-km2cg short serve period (in adv. World), poor power to weight ratio, major service (in 20k k.m.) cost is close to german bikes service cost Benelli already lost the game in segment
@@VikramSingh-iv1hv with all due respect, I think you’re wrong about benelli losing. I think the power to weight could’ve been slightly better but, honestly, it’s fine. Didn’t feel disappointing during the test ride. Agreed with your points about the service but Benelli customers already know what they’re getting into. And this bike has created a segment for itself. But I’ll agree with you by saying that just because they’re a fancy brand, it doesn’t entitle them to have bad/weird servicing. It’ll be fun to see what the rivals come up with to compete with it. I think Royal Enfield has a great segment to add a new tourer in. Their 650 already is a superb base to start with, considering it makes 80% of its peak torque down low. Benelli will always be a niche(IMO) catering to customers who really look for something unique and are ready to pay a premium(if I may add, Honda really screwed up the pricing of the 500 which makes me very upset). I hope the Chinese owners respect the heritage and don’t pull off cheap tactics that’ll give the brand a bad name.
why trying so hard to market Honda. For sure it's not best value for money Honda as usual is charging a premium. Good for them. journo's please try to get to your guess atleast in range. 5.5 to 7 is really an adventure in itself. :)
