FYI- Another great point to mention is that many 2007+ cbr600rr owners still have valves that are in spec at 50,000 miles! I called the honda dealership for a valve adjustment check at 18k miles and they laughed at me and said they've never had a 2007+ cbr600rr where the vales were out of spec. That's Honda quality for you!

FYI- I forgot to mention the CBR600rr and Suzuki GSXR600 have a built-in electronic steering damper that keeps the bike smooth over 50+ mph, so no tank slappers like you would experience on the ZX6r and R6 which do not come with steering dampers, something extra you'll have to buy and tune.

Five years later, it's time to update your video or when are you coming out with part 2.

FYI- I was joking at the end, I probably should have said all of the japanese bikes are great but it depends on your preferences on which bike is the best for you. really, you can't go wrong with any of these bikes, it just depends on what you look for in a bike. Performance wise all of the current japanese bikes are close in performance, except the R6 has the weakest low and mid-range power out of the 4 japanese bikes BUT if you are a track guy that is not as important to you and you may actually prefer a top end bike. So it's all about your preferences. If you buy a bike solely on looks or a test ride than that's your prerogative too. As long as you are happy riding that's all that matters.

Now that I know the CBR is the best in class at everything, I’m gonna go out and buy a ninja 636 still.

FYI- The cbr600rr was redesigned in 2007 with added strong midrange power, the previous 2006 and older model years were all top end and no low to midrange power like the R6 and older zx6r. Love the video and in the detail you go into, looking to purchase my first bike in the spring once all the snow is gone. Would you reccommend this as a first bike? I am trying to decide between this and a Ninja 650. This would be the only 600 SS that I would buy due to its power in the low end and the more comfortable riding position. Great info. You are absolutely correct about everything! I am 47 yrs old and have always rode hondas. Have a pristine 99 cbr 900 right now, a 1000 cbr , and a vtx 1300 (for my cruising days). Never an issue besides a regulator on the 900. I thought about a bmw s1000rr , but for the street, the cbr was rated much better. I rode other brands when starting too and have nothing against them.. But, at 5'10 and being around average height, you cant beat the cbr for street comfort. Even at the recent motogp, I sat on other brands and feel too stretched out. My experience and the reliabilty factor (always been the repuation for hondas, generators, bikes , cars, etc) is what causes me to buy the honda product. I also have a friend who has nothing but hondas w/ no issues! He has several bikes and he has been around too. The performance differences (if thats your purchasing reason) are tiny for street so why not get a honda? Whether u start out on a 600 or 1000(NOT recommended!), be extra careful. These ss bikes are crazy power.

I have the black graffiti 2008 and it rocks. Usable power for ultimate street fun. And comfortable, though my former 2004 gsx600r was just as light, just as comfortable and arguably more of an intuitive in corners and fast bends. Best bike I've ever owned and wish to buy again: Honda Sp2. Nothing else like it that I've ever rode.

How do you feel about prior to 2007 Honda 600 CBRrr, the 2004 - 2006 years ? Do they have the plastic Tank cover as well ? now the comfort part i dont agree. have a 08 r6 and an 08 600rr, the yam at 75 mph cruising i get no vibration in the hands, my cbr at 75 vibration into the hands after about 35-40 minutes i have to stop. i can ride my r6 all day. And... yes i have had my cbr in and checked over 3 times. still vibrates. same tires on both. cbr does have more street able power, the r6 is a screemer

I think it comes down to preference and what works for the person. My 2 cents is to do diligence in research on all the bikes in the class and find what suits you. Maybe it will be the cbr.
