I own a 2018 cbr650f and its an awesome bike. Incredibly comfortable. Looks good, and quick.

I'm 5"6" and I have a 28-29" in-seam and I can flat foot this bike with motorcycle boots. Don't bother getting a 250-300cc. This is a GREAT beginner bike. I wish I just got this as a my first bike. I would've been completely fine.

190lbs 5'10" and its my beginner bike and its been super easy to learn on and control.

this bike has alot of power it's comparable to my 1989 Kawasaki 600r ninja except it sit more upright. also i own a 2014 Honda 650f! i think the weight helps because the wind does not blow you all over like the light weight sport bikes do.

Love that blue color. I'm going to look at a 2018 tomorrow, which only came in red with some white trim, and doesn't really look that amazing to me in pictures. Maybe better in person, hopefully.

i have both cbr600fr 1993 and cbr650fa 2015. I must admit that these bikes are great.

Would love to consider this as a first bike, would you buy it again? Also - for this as a first bike was this a killer for insurance? I'm trying to get into a bike I won't outgrow in 1-2 years and this ticks all the right boxes. I just haven't done any insurance research yet.

@@godfreywilkinson9904 my insurance is 90 bucks a month but if you take more motorcycles classes, not just the MSF, your insurance qill be lowered as well, not to mention your age is taken in to effect and your driving record and if you are paying for the bike in full or getting it financed

@@joshuamurray7132 thanks for the reply. I'm surprised at your insurance rate! Everything I've heard is, "prepare to sell any organs you're not in need of!". Do you mind if I ask who your insurance company is? I'm looking to get my licence by doing an M1 exit test course next summer (which I've read on some forum boards that some insurers automatically treat you as though you have an M2 licence if you do that).

@@godfreywilkinson9904 i go through geico but its different in each state, I would call up your insurance company That you have with your car or you can use an agent and they can get you the best price, I have heard of some people paying as low as 20 bucks a monrh

This bike needs two things. An aluminium frame, and a modern dashboard. This bike is a boat when it comes to weight, which is a real shame because that's the main thing keeping me from buying one. Dashboard is just old (not oldschool, just old). It got all the things you want, but it looks ugly and dated, and it makes the entire cockpit feel very wide and bulky - further adding to the boat feel of the bike. If they really want to make this bike lead the segment, the next 650f should be: - Using the engine as load bearing element - Frame made of aluminium - modern and sleek dashboard with speed, revs, fuel, gear, time indication as minimum. No need for fancy techs, just the most usable ones, and they should look good and easy to read. - a sleeker front end. The bike as it is now is very wide when you see it in person - even compared to a 1000rr. There is no reason for this, and this entire "bulkyness" needs to go. It's such a good idea that Honda went for this middleweight NON supersport bike with an inline 4 engine instead of all the parallel twin 650 bikes that all feel underpowered.

Yep. Now that they discontinued the 600rr, there is the 1000rr, the nc700, 650f, and 500 lineup. All of them except the 1000rr are too heavy. It's a shame when you see the likes of MT07 and the SV650 being similarly sized bikes - but they weigh 20-30 kg less, it's embarrassing. Honda need to be bold with their future bikes.

I mean, if they really want to go with the split dials theme they could at least make the rev meter analogue and keep the rest digital, maybe take some inspiration from pre panigale Ducatis (like 999), or older Aprilia RSV4 etc. Anything would be better than what they have now to be honest.

You seriously don't have a fuckin clue about bikes do you for one this engine is designed as a stress member and is tilted forward more than normal for better weight distribution , also 211kg wet isn't heavy for a standard inline 4 600/650 . During the 90s the most popular sports bikes such as a CBR 600f3 fzr 600. The old ninja 600 weigh around 208kg wet . Also bikes like the thundercat 600 weighd exactly 210 kg wet and that didn't haft to carry any emmisions devices and also heavy as fuck modern exhaust systems full of massive cat converters. Or abs. My cbr 650f only weighs 207kg with a aftermarket system . Them I have mentioned have been some of the best 600ccs ever made. A standard twin motorcycle might be abit lighter but they always have been ffs it's com and sence.. Iff your comparing to a 600rr what has a aluminium frame they where allot more expensive . You could say the 650f has gone backwards but that's only beacuce the older bikes where just the much better SPORTS TOURERS. The 650f are so planted at high speed and excellent around corners. And also you might then say about it having slightly less top end speed well it's only 12hp compared to the 2011 hornet that missing hp makes it allot stronger down low. After the bike has got down to basics with no strict fueling it's a 100hp engine with allot Stronger mid range compared to any 600cc. That aluminum frame on the hornet onlyy saves 6kg compared to the cb650f as the 2011 hornet was 202 wet compared to 208. So your talking 6kg pall. Wow 6kg. The 650f is accturally a bigger bike. . The dash in my opinion could look more sporty but I think it looks like a more sensible look it does it's job

I'm wondering how the acceleration compares. I have no experience on the CBR 650 but I am intrigued by.. does it feel like getting pulls faster than the Bonneville?
