Restoring an item requires imagination, creativity, patience, skill and tools. Not to mention that it is almost a therapeutic relaxation treatment. I LOVE restorations !! Giving new life to old pieces is extremely pleasurable.

I can't believe he re-used that piston, and didn't open up the engine. I don't think I'd want to trust welded up handlebars either.

Welds are strong enough unless you're a hulk.

cylinder-piston group needs to be replaced or a cylinder must be bored and a piston of a new repair size installed. scuffing on the piston skirt is a sign of engine overheating. such an engine will not work for a long time

The cleanest restoration I’ve seen so far on RU-vid. Just one request If you do painting please do somewhere far from here plantations and of course kids and cattle barn. And please avoid very toxic materials that would harm both people and the Nature. Very very thanks

This is not a restoration! To restore something means to bring it to original spec's. Then for exaple the hole inside the frame had to be fixed/welded, the chrome had to be redone and not painted, the play on the axle of the brake pedal had to be fixed/welded/milled, the dipstick wouldn't be sanded of but would be replaced, engine wouldn't be painted but polished... Don't get me wrong, the bike looks very good and most of it has been done very well. This is more of a refurbish or a repaint, but not a restauration.

The whole job is criminal. No safety items were restored, he just hid the problems under paint and some poor bozo will be impressed by it and buy it. I pity the fool...

Of they do it on a car...indeed a felony. But, it's common to do after a restoration of a bike. ( most ppl, simply put a new unit in)

The transmission sings and you did not repair the rust on the inner surface of the frame near the engine. I liked the use of the 3d printer. My thought is if you had access to the expensive tools would it not been easier to buy a new one? How many CC's is the engine? Other than that, nice job. Thank You for sharing.

There was never a Haynes Repair Manual printed for the Chaly or Monkey Bike we used used to call it so a Honda Cub booklet was the nearest match .The older the Motorcycle got a lot of problems arose with it starting first time so a hairdryer was used to blow air through the carburettor filter and the handlebar stem used to wobble because of rubber washers clamped to the forks .

Awesome restoration. Other than rolling back the odo, which is illegal in my country, you have mad skills. 3D printing, lathing, tig welding you have a lot of nice skills to fix things. If I hear on the news of a space shuttle being done by a private party. I will know you are are involved. :)

Don't turn back drive length meter. It is only the way to know how long has the motor bike driven. The distance information will be used to proper maintenance work.
