Great video. I kept the original key drum that opens with the ignition key. Do you have a video on how to install the original key drum into the new cylinder?
My key is stuck 😞 on the 🔐 keyhole of my car, it's a honda civic. It was raining for a few days and I think water damaged something inside the keyhole, now I can turn or take my key out, please help!
The pins inside the cylinder is either damaged or broken. Spray WD40 in to see if it loosen up. Try to push the key in all the way and yank it back out. Replace the cylinder and the key.
My friend, I have a 2014 honda civic key that turns on the car but doesn’t unlock door. After changing lock cylinder, will i have to get a new key fob or will the original key fob work for the new cylinder lock. Let me know my friend. Thanks for awesome video
If you get new cylinder, it will come with a new key. You have to program the key. The old key will not work with the new cylinder, only to start the car.
New door key can't use with the original ignition key fob because its a new lock. You can buy have the dealership make a new key and reprogram it to the car.
It would be the same. If the CRV have a black button sensor on the handle then you have to remove the door panel to disconnect the connector from the inside that's connected to the handle.
@@Ah_Duuu_Ma Yesterday I removed my (vandalized and damaged) door lock cylinder and it was as easy as you showed. However the replacement plastic cover part is not easy to find, the part is on shortage list.

On my Honda Civic, the cover around the key hole/lock cylinder fell off (it wasn't someone trying to break in my vehicle), I am trying to find a replacement cover with the key hole but having trouble finding got the Civic (I see it available for other vehicles such an Audi). Any ideas on the part number or specific part name ? Thanks for any info.
@@Ah_Duuu_Ma thanks. I ordered the door handle and door cylinder handle cover together. It is cheap plastic (it doesn't look like the original OEM, the design looks a bit different as the cylinder cover on the OEM part slides underneath the handle, but the one I purchased only has a small tab that sticks out), and when I try to put it on it on, it doesn't seem to fit/go on. I don't have time to take apart the entire door handle (I am sure I would mess it up and run out of time to put it back together in time to drive to work). so on the weekend, I am going to try to find someone I can pay to do this.
Make sure you have the right bolt thread and make sure the hole on the cylinder for the bolt is not strip. Make sure everything sits perfectly align before you in tighten the bolt.
Would this work on my Honda civic LX 2015? My door isn’t reading my ignition key so I was going to replace it so it locks. Also can I buy the cylinder on Amazon?
@@Ah_Duuu_Ma I ended up getting the part off Amazon with the car feature that showed if it fit. It ended up fitting and fixed my door. Thank you so much for this video. Honda tried charging me $500 to replace my door. Whole time It was the lock cylinder
For the door lock cap use your key or flat head screwdriver to pry it out. Theres a little slot under the cap cover, you can slide the key in to pry it.
Literally explain it step by step. Way too easy to do. Remove the 10mm bolt on the side to remove the lock cylinder and pull the door handle so it pop off.
2016 model is the same. No you don't have to disconnect any electrical or no need to remove door panel. Yes remove the black cover cap on the of the door to get to the door cylinder bolt.
