Good info, Thanks. As for the vapor barrier. Do not use duct tape like the person did before this video was made. Get the back mastic or use HVAC foil tape. Clean surface to get rid of dust and as much of old mastic and tape as possible. I know the foil tape is not removable, but if ever need to get back in there I can cut along the tape line and just put new tape over the old tape. Also if plastic is rotten, torn up etc, consider fabricating a new one from heavy plastic. I think I got some at a big box hardware store. Use the old one as a template. I have done this on a few older cars, or where I found the plastic bad or was totally missing.

From what I gather the run channel slowly looses the fuzzy coating and so that the window will grab the rubber. This happens mainly when wet. Also, the supporting brackets and mounting points for the front track bar are to weak allow it to flex enough for the window to pop out. I wouldn't think you'd need to replace the regulator but I do agree you need the channel... Good luck

I drive for Dominos and after my 11th stiff in one day i slammed my door a little too hard and the entire door panel dislodged and then my window wouldn't roll up all the way..lol Hopefully this will fix it and it's nothing worse. Thanks for the help!

i own an 98 ex civic and an 2000 Se civic sedan and have never seen the panel like the ones you have in this vid they look like 92-95 door panels and yes i've own 92 SI hatchback and an 93 DX coupe

Do you have the rest of the video on reinstalling the panel, I'm having trouble lining it up on the window track, I've already cracked it👎🏿😡 or any advice?

I've had to do this about 5 times on my 1997 civic already. This video taught me how. For some reason it never stays in the tracks? Maybe the control arm is bent?

I don't think that would be a problem.. but make sure you get the wiring harness going all the way to the underdash fuse block. The block should be ready to go with the correct slot for power window doors... As far as the interchange between years I pretty sure 97-2k are the same but visually compare before purchase. Thanks, dude. Notes: watch out, our cars are old, the door panels are getting brittle. Lube up the rails with rubber conditioner. I used fader lube for the window regulator tracks. Tape or mild adhesive the plastic sheet back into place. Even if it is ripped.

Hi, Great video. Im Mike in London England, please i need your advice. So unknowingly I've only gone and ordered a Dorman 741-736 window regulator which is for a USDM Civic's (Passenger side) so have just discovered that the regulators motor electrical plug is a 2 pin whereas on my UKDM Civic (Driver side) it's a 4 pin plug. So basically regulator and motor would fit as it's for the right side door, just theres 2 wires and a 2 pin plug instead of 4 wires and a 4 pin plug to connect to my UKDM wiring. Any ideas to work round this bro? Damn totally my fault I should've known plugs would be different being that RHD - UKDM and LHD- USDM, Totally my fault 🤦🏼🤣

96-00 for sure but I'm hearing from a few people with the older 92-95's with similar probs....

Don't know for sure without seeing it but sounds like the plastic tabs that are used to attach the window to the regulator assembly might be broken which would mean you have replace the window itself. good luck

hey man my driver side window makes like some sort of poping sound when going down and then it seems as if the window falls out of place or something could this be the way to fix that?

I just bought a 97 civic with the same problem. The driver side window is wedged shut with wood. I haven't looked at it yet because of the wet weather.

Not sure... Mine always rolled down fine but when I rolled it up the front edge would not move up properly causing the window to bind. I could get it to roll up if I pulled up on the front edge while rolling it up with the motor.

My panel right under the window control doesn't have that screw in the middle of the lil cup. Where would it be in that case? I looked around and no screw hole.

g/f has a 2000 ex with the tweeter in the corner it is important that u take that off before trying to put the panel back on. i spent an extra hour tryin to put the panel on with the tweeter in place save yourself the embarassment and take it off

what was that extra layer you removed that had duct tape holding it up? I'm looking to install sound-deadener, and was looking for instructions on removing the panel on a 2002 civic. Shouldnt be too different.

That was just a moisture/vapor barrier. Its just a piece of plastic to prevent moisture from entering the vehicle. later

Front window track is not adjustable on 94 civic.

Sounds like your track assembly might be bent out of place.... I'd just try to flex it in the position it should be in....

I did this but the only problem is that my car wont lock. My alarm doesnt lock it either.
