So you just watched the Clarkson review and repeated him - did you know that Top gear magazine awarded it best hot hatch of the year, and the stig loved it too. Looks so much better than that god awful ep3 🤮
Jeremy Clarkson is arguably the most famous motoring journalist on this planet. I quoted what he had said and you see I didn't agree with his opinion that the car is too stiff. It's good to sometimes know what areas to focus on when reviewing a car to make your own judgement on later. Also, I prefer the EP3 exterior over the FN2 but I appreciate the FN2 interior more!
@@CarNitty wonderful humor, but the reality is also t'hiis. Do you want without even esp tail to make oversteer for example during a corner or to be neutral? We are not speaking for tracks, but public roads. Also on track fn2 overseers on the edge. And I am a person coming from the Mazda 6 Mps and have driven EP3 for more than 30 kms on the edge
I own Clarkson’s Top Gear Type R test car and it’s not as bad as he makes out! It’s the best secondhand car you can get for the money and if looked after is one of the most reliable Even the CD player reads really scratched discs without skipping 😂

R32's are genuinely not very fast. Sound amazing but not fast by today's modern standards. The Honda being lighter and nimble will make it a faster drive no doubt
The owner of this car had an Audi A3 3.2 after the EP2 so the FN2 had big shoes to fill. If it was a direct upgrade from the EP2, I think it's a dream. More power and dual cam VTEC under your foot. But he solid his car (AGAIN) so clearly this car wasn't enough for him. If I was you, I'd base my decision on insurance cost. Go with whatever is cheaper. If they're roughly the same, bear in mind the Golf may be more expensive on maintenance but more tunable as it's turbocharged
I'm going to be honest here and say I looked at getting a 645Ci as a second car to my M135i and the one I viewed blew white smoke. That was up for £5k. When such desirable cars are available for cheap, it leads to cheap owners that don't maintain it and thus the reputation for unreliable. For £7/8k, you can get a really clean one. I'd say it's worth holding out for one of them and buy it if you really want one. Don't settle as you'll never gel with the car you settle for.
@@derekporter66 that means they should cover anything that's engine and gearbox related. Nothing that's wear and tear. They may try their best to avoid paying out. Make sure the policy is iron tight, provided by a reputable provider such as Warranty Wise and make sure you pay by card so there's an audit trail.
@@raq4244 yep but in the UK, you can't buy one unless it's a Japanese import so if the typical consumer wants an NA Type R, there's only 2x choices. Also, the FD2/FN2 are based off the same generation of Civic and had the same production life as one another. It's just we didn't get the Type R Civic saloon, we got the hatchback.
Yeah what Honda did here was a backward step, the Type R is less about comfort and more about handling which sadly the FN2 has lost the character hence it's the least desirable Type R. Having said that like Saiful said this is probably one of the best daily Type R's you can get and with the prices rock bottom right now, now is the time to buy. Has to be Milano Red for me though!
You've hit the nail on the head Mujahid! Absolute backwards step. All a cost saving procedure for Honda without a thought for owners. As time has passed and the price fairly reflects the value, it's the best time to buy and perhaps the stigma can be a thing of the past. It's definitely the least raw Type R built but every cloud has its silver lining!
