Your Friendly Neighborhood Ricer yeah the sound had changed a lot from when I had first bought it so I just put the oem one back on. I’ll probably get like a Megan axle back or something just to have a little more volume than stock lol
Paul Seminara that’s exactly what I’m doing but I’m gonna get one custom made out of a borla pro sx muffler that I got a while back. All the axle backs I could find were expensive.
Your Friendly Neighborhood Ricer sounds good, I might get a vibrant muffler or something along the lines of that and go custom. You should post a video of your setup when you put on that Borla.
I've been wanting this exhaust. However, I'm not sure if this is legal in CA. What's your shifting RPM points? I noticed it doesn't sound too loud near the end of the video.
Michael Medina I was shifting at about 3000 rpm, just casual driving. And since it is past the downpipe I don’t think it’s illegal, but I know California is strict.
Paul Seminara thanks for the quick reply. I've been debating on going for it, or just enjoy the car for now and just get an Si later on haha. I just got my car too, so I just want to personalize it without it being too excessive.
Michael Medina yeah I’ve thought about getting a Si also but I figured since my car has such low miles I’ll drive it for a few more years and save up for the car I really want like a WRX or something. This exhaust was good, not too loud but not quiet either. If you put an Intake and a header it will be very loud. I actually have this exhaust for sale right now haha
Michael Medina I had it on Craigslist for $150 but I’d let it go for less because out here people only work on American cars. It’s in perfect shape and the gaskets are in decent shape but I am missing 3 bolts because I reused them for my new exhaust, but you could probably find them at a hardware store.
Paul Seminara thanks for replying bro, lot of people don’t even do that. I’ll appreciate it if you post them cause I have the same exact car and I was thinking about getting the yonaka cat back. I’ll have post notifications on and I already subscribed. Thanks bro
HueyQuitPlayin 7 no problem dude. I’ll look for them on my old phone and post them. It’s a good exhaust for the money, not loud and raspy like most exhausts you hear for the R18. But not quiet either. It also pops on the downshifts so that’s always fun.
Yeah. Sohc I vtec. Works differently than Si vtec. The R18's vtec is for fuel efficiency, so when you're light on the throttle between 1.5k-3.5k revs you will have improved fuel efficiency. If you read up on it, it's actually a very impressive and capable engine!
It has a second set of runners in the intake that are shorter, it switches to them about 5400 RPM. Lets out a lil growl. Almost like VTEC sound wise if you have a short ram.
