I know it's hard to quantify in this type of review, but cost isn't just purchase price. You have to factor in maintenance and repairs. The increased reliability of a Honda compared to some rivals over long-term ownership is a significant factor. Not many people buy a brandnew car every 3 years if they can avoid it...
I am a proud owner of a Honda Civic Tourer since 2017 (the new facelift Diesel). It has a much better sat nav and all the nice features. I have had the roof top-box installed (Thule) and I have noticed no difference in economy, it looks amazing, too. I can get 600 miles from a full tank of fuel. I had many cars in the past, but this car is the best I have ever owned. My Honda has now 166000 miles on the clock full service history and still runs like a relatively new car. A dream to drive, overtaking is relatively simple. Thumbs up Honda the most practical car I have owned. After all these years, I am not in a rush to get rid of my Honda. 👍🤗
I have the 1.6 diesel and will return easily 60mpg on the motorway. It will return 65 if drive like a grany. It will return 70 if you don't mind driving dangerously slow on the motorway. Realistically you looking around 60mpg. Still a fantastic car
The Seat Leon wouldn't get a look in, it's ok just not my cup of tea, the Ford Focus is very good to drive but a bit drab looking. If it were my money the tough decision would be between between the Honda Civic Tourer estate or the Golf Mk7 estate. In the end i would most likely go for the Honda it has one of the best diesel engines on the market, is better looking, more spacious and has a great reliability record.
Wait a minute... Fuel economy is measured Miles per Gallon, but CO2 emissions is measured Grams per Kilometre??? do you Brits find something wrong with just picking one system of measurement?
Brilliant family car for those who want the comfort and ride of a Car rather than small SUV. Not everyone wants Sport...many prefer practicality and comfort.
I'm a bit late to the party here on this vid but I've just bought a 64 reg civic tourer diesel. 54mpg, not 74mpg is achievable in mixed driving according to on board computer. No load, no passengers. 74mpg might be achievable if you drive for hours on the motorway in 6th gear
Just got 78.6 MPG over 100 miles of motorway driving [65-75mph] carrying two people and two sets of golf clubs, absolutely great mpg together with zero road tax, so if economy is your bag this is a great choice.
Pretty good that Civic Estate, Sometimes honda does great stuff an other times one just does not understand what they are on about. This Civic is though a quite clear purpose car and adds good competition in the segment. For a family estate it does not look bad either, at least it´s not boring. Thanks For the Review ;)
I was excited when this came out, but few weeks back I tried how's space and with my 6 ft 1,5 (187 cm) I was disappointed in rear seats :( Wonder how 6 ft 4 got in there!? The Leon ST was a bit boring and Octavia too mainstream. Tho' I liked your lovely/cute looks, Rebecca :)
I don't get why the UK get stuff we don't over here, it's the damn CUV's that keep cars like this away from our shores, if you gave US buyers to choose this or the CRV, they would jump on the latter.

The rear seats look to be the same design as those in the Honda HRV/Vezel. The bases or lower part of the seat are short and low. If you look while she is in the back seat her thighs are way above the surface of the base of the seat while her calves are some distance away from the edge of the back seat. This amounts to little or no support for the legs and contributes to making the ride in the back very uncomfortable. It's the same with the HRV/Vezel.

Way too expensive, not a looker - in fact the whole car looks cheap. Honda seem to have lost the plot recently. As an ex Honda Civic vtec fan and owner, I'm not impressed. You can get a Mazda 6 tourer for the same money & anyone who even considers this is frankly off their head.
