@@deacongowan117 stock or modified lol cause modified maybe , cause i’ve seen modified ones do mid to low 8s in the 1/4 but stock .. its getting obliterated by an awd Honda.. power to weight plays a key role & them old civics weight under 2500lbs lol
Why are you guys saying all wheel drive for the first car? It had skinnies on the back so, it's not. k series is inferior to b series sadly. Unless there is an aftermarket fix for transmission breaks.
Its pretty impressive what a couple late nights, elbow grease, and collection of tools can do. The hellcat is definitely a great "bought" fast car, but some of them "built" cars are just awesome. :)
I used to talk crud about Hondas for like 10+ years.. I finally matured and met and seen some nice Honda builds and people... Back in the early 2000s and 2010s and now people still talk crap about these cars yet they hold up to todays standards.. Since I was born in 94 I always wanted to build a 94 Civic or Prelude, so now I am saving up till I reach 10k to start my build.

Was once a prelude, not anymore. Honda could not do it. Someone else had to step in and make some major changes and help out the little car that could. If someone put a rocket motor on it , would you say "man those Hondas are fast as f...? " One can make a gulf cart go fast and beat anything. A Prelude aint that much different. How about a lawn tractor? I beat a Hellcat with my Troy bilt.

Honda builds such amazing cars. When modified in the right ways, a beat up ‘98 civic can go toe-to-toe with a purpose-built dragster from Dodge. Also, Prelude with a drag chute is just funny
the demon is the purpose built drag car not the hellcat. and to be fair the honda dudes prolly have more invested in those cars then the hellcat new. so moot point there bud lol
I have a 94 Civic Si hatchback with nothing but a B20Z in it, so I'm not trying to race anything. Even still, its quick for what it is and has quite a bit of money in the suspension so it handles really well.
@@MN-vw3rp I've heard the shifting cannot take much power though. Also as a CRV lover, I wonder how many were scrapped just for it's engine...It's my good on gas off road vehicle.

It's not, it's bracket racing which is not even racing, it's just a time trial against yourself. You win for getting closest to your last time. I've seen completely stock automatics when because even a child can just press the gas and get the same exact time every time LOL...its goofy... It did demonstrate the civic was much faster though, so clip served it's purpose.
I was confused why it didn't have wheelie bars. I thought you had to for certain track times. It had no problem gripping without it, pretty impressive, maybe very stiff back springs.
to my knowledge, Civics only come with 4-cylinder engines. i don't know much about modifications, but does this Civic in the video also have 4 cylinders?
Imagine your purpose-built V8 car getting its teeth kicked in by a likely-straight-4, beat-up beater originally built to be an ordinary daily driver. Even after getting a headstart, as was the case in the first race! (The Civics likely had a truckload of mods pumped into them, but still...)
