This video is a lifesaver!!! I needed to replace my fog light assembly due to a little rock causing a crack on the lens while driving on the highway! I purchased a fork shaped wedge tool just like the one in your video and followed your steps and was easily able to swap out the fog light assembly and secure everything in place!! Awesome 😎 saved me a ton of money from sending to the repair so they could charge me the labor to remove the bumper. Thanks a lot!!!!

I bought this set for my 2016, and moved it over when I upgraded to a 2017. FYI, all of the lights I bought worked just fine, except there is no rear cabin light for the liftgate, they now have two smaller one on each side. I haven't opened them to see what kind of bulbs they take. But the map, vanity, and dome light fixtures were identical to the 2016 and look great in the 2017. :)

No, upgrading your lighting will not void your vehicles warranty, as it is protected by the Magnuson-Moss Act. I have linked some information on this law below for your convenience. www.impalaclub.com/naisso/magmoss.htm

Great video! Very clear and I appreciate all the steps. My only critique would be to zoom in on some spots so we can see certain details better. Also, the black car color makes it a little challenging to see. I’m definitely going to check out the site for the bulbs. Thanks!

I did similar upgrades to the fog lights to my CRV 2014 model year European model. Low beams came with HID from the factory . The fog lights can be accessed from beneath the car. Just release the plastic guard and you can see the back of the fog light assembly. The space is tighter but it's an option if you don't have those special fork tools.

I also have another question is okay in stock housing like not blinding other drivers and it doesn't need adjusting right.
@PrecisionLED
@PrecisionLED 7 лет назад
There are many factors and many upgrades to headlight housings over the years that help mitigate any glare to oncoming drivers. It is more or less the color of the light which causes distraction and not the actual brightness intensity itself. If you notice, the most distracting lights to see on the road are the blue HID lights which cause a lot of glare for the human eye, whereas you probably never noticed the 6000K or 8000K lights on the road because they are more natural to the human eye.

Do you need the projection headlight version on the CRV found on the Touring Edition to install these LEDS? Can the non-Projection lenses melt?
@PrecisionLED
@PrecisionLED 6 лет назад
No you do not, as our kits are manufactured for your stock CR-V headlight housing. You do not have to swap your housing for a different kind. Also, our LEDs actually run at a lower temperature than your halogen bulbs. As long as the bulb is installed properly, you do not have anything to worry about.

If you wanted to add LED high beams, where would you place the ballast? The low beam ballast seemed to take the only open spot.
@PrecisionLED
@PrecisionLED 6 лет назад
For the highs, you would install this kit here: www.precisionled.com/premium-9005-cree-led-headlights.html If the high beam comes with a dust cover, our ballasts are small enough to store in the housing and place the cover over it. If it does not come with a dust cover, you can zip tie the ballast to the frame or 3M mount it to the side wall.

@PrecisionLED

That is absolutely correct. The 2012-2014 models use the H4 dual beam LED fitment. The 2015+ would use the H11. However, the installation process is identical, and the video applies to both generations. You can see this info reflect off of the links in the description of the video.

Hi, so this model seems to have fog lights pre-installed, but what about models that don't have fog lights pre-installed? For example, the Honda 2016 CRV SE? Those have plastic place holders, would you be able to take out those place holders and install the fog lights like you just did in this video?
@PrecisionLED
@PrecisionLED 7 лет назад
No, you would not be able to, as you would need to have existing halogen fogs in order to convert them to LEDs. Reason being is because you would need already have the wiring installed, as well as a button to turn the fogs on/off.

+PrecisionLED In the link for both Heads and Fogs, you show two different links but they both lead to the same product. I noticed the asterisk which then says they are both 'interchangeable' but in the video you shoe two different types. If what you say about interchangeability is true, then why are you using different types (judging by the gray color ballast for Heads, and Black for Fogs!), in the video? BTW: My vehicle is a 2016 CR-V EX-L ;-)

2014 CRV. 9003(H4) for the high/lows and H11 for the fogs right? I only have one set of bulbs Thst are my highs/lows. They are not separate and they have reflective housing. Not projector.
@PrecisionLED
@PrecisionLED 7 лет назад
Thank you for your interest. Yes, that is exactly correct. Also, the H4 bulb would be bi-xenon, meaning it would project your high and low beams from the same bulb. In order to do so, the bulb would physically move in order to project lights at different angels.

@PrecisionLED
@PrecisionLED 7 лет назад
Thank you for the interest. The big difference between bulb types would be the fitment. There is no better/worse when it comes to H11 vs H8. The products are interchangeable because the fitment of the bulbs are virtually identical. Yes, you can use the H11s for your fogs as well, if your fogs list H8 as the required bulb.

Hi! The fog lights are definitely still available, and they would be compatible with your 2015 CR-V. Here is a direct link: www.precisionled.com/premium-h8-cree-led-fog-lights.html? I believe you are referring to the ballast, which is a device that regulates voltage and current supplied to the lamp during start and throughout operation. I bought 80W 7200LM 12-24V Auxbeam H11 type . I dont know if the wattage was higher than the required out of my vehicle. What will be the right wattage ? Are you selling the right wattage for the low beam? Or is it really the projector type headlight housing .
@PrecisionLED
@PrecisionLED 7 лет назад
We do not sell nor recommend 55W kits because of an increase in fire risk. Our LED kits (35W) run at a lower temperature than your OEM lights (55W). All the horror stories you hear online of headlights melting is due to higher wattage HID or LED kits. They operate at much higher temperatures than what your headlight is designed for. A 35W kit gives 3 time more brightness than a halogen bulb but operates at a lower temperature. The slight increase in brightness offered by a 55W kit is not a good tradeoff for the safety risk.

Thank you for your interest. There are direct links to the packages for the headlamps and fog lights in the description of the video. We do mainly handle interior LED lighting, however, we also sell headlamps, fog lights, high beams, reverse, and a couple other exterior lighting. Also, your vehicle should indeed us the H11 bulb type. Unless, of course, your vehicle comes with stock HIDs, in which case, the kit listed would not be compatible for your vehicle. so where does the chip have to aim? up left right or down?
@PrecisionLED
@PrecisionLED 5 лет назад
You should only be able to install the LED bulb in a single direction into your housing. Also, it does not matter where the chip aims, as your housing is designed to project light evenly onto the road.

What about glare in reflector type headlights?
@PrecisionLED
@PrecisionLED 8 лет назад

Hi. Where did you put the ballast on the driver side? 2016 CRV. Thanks
@PrecisionLED
@PrecisionLED 6 лет назад
The ballast on the driver side would go on the sidewall as well. There should be an identical spot on the opposite side of the vehicle.
@eiselesimeon9851
@eiselesimeon9851 6 лет назад
PrecisionLED so i need to remove the battery? Thanks
@PrecisionLED
@PrecisionLED 6 лет назад
No, it is not typically necessary. However, if you are having trouble accessing the side wall, there should be plenty of places to mount the ballast. You would just want to find somewhere that is flat. Be sure to clean off any surface beforehand to free it from any dirt or dust.

how do they differ from hids? I've been deciding to switch to leds but people say its not as bright? I currently have 6k hids on my crv
@PrecisionLED
@PrecisionLED 8 лет назад
Both LEDs and HIDs do indeed have their own perks. Either can be brighter, depending on the quality of product purchased. We believe we have some of the highest quality products on the market today, which we back with a warranty. Also, LEDs are known to last slightly longer than LEDs. I have linked some additional information below for your convenience. www.caradvice.com.au/278125/headlights-explained-halogen-v-hid-v-led-v-laser/

the link says it's 35w bulbs but crv head h11 55w right? will that be ok?
@PrecisionLED
@PrecisionLED 8 лет назад
Yes, this is perfectly fine. Our kits (35W) run at a lower temperature than your OEM lights (55W). We do not sell nor recommend 55W kits because of an increase in fire risk.

@PrecisionLED
@PrecisionLED 7 лет назад
Thank you for your interest. We will keep this in mind for future installation videos. However, please note, it is very rare for us to have to adjust the headlamp cutoff after the LED installation.
@Jlui83
@Jlui83 7 лет назад
PrecisionLED my main question is, does the LED have a crisp cutoff like true factory HIDs?
@PrecisionLED
@PrecisionLED 7 лет назад
A headlamp cutoff has to do with the housing type (reflector vs projector), and not the bulb inside. Projectors have a physical medal plate inside of the housing to make a crisp cutoff. This is with LEDs, halogens, HIDs, or any other type of light installed. Reflector housings tend to disperse light on the road more.

Hello, I just purchased the 2017 CR-V, do you have any videos and this vehicle?
@PrecisionLED
@PrecisionLED 7 лет назад
Thank you for your interest. The installation on the 2017 should be virtually identical to as shown in this video. Installing LEDs on headlamps is very similar on all vehicles. The only major difference would be physically accessing your halogen bulb.
@MikeMorgan
@MikeMorgan 7 лет назад
I have the 2017 now and transferred the bulbs from my 2016...the installation is identical. The only catch is in the 2017 cargo area they did away with the central light and opted for two lights on either side, so I just left those alone.
@faithfulgiant_8468
@faithfulgiant_8468 7 лет назад
Mike, I changed the interior lights on my 2017 and they looks great, even did the ones in the cargo area. Very fast and quick install. Now I just need to change my headlights and my reverse light. I saw that on the back of the lift gate, there are two square cut outs for the reverse light. I just need to be careful on how I remove those pieces, to get to those reverse lights.
@MikeMorgan
@MikeMorgan 7 лет назад
To me the interior ones were more important to do, someday I might tackle things like the headlights and the backup lights, but not anytime soon. :)
