Some back to back testing between a 1996 Honda CR250 and a 2006 Honda CR250. Very interesting test. How far did honda progress in 10 years. Leave a comment to let me know which one you guys preferred

And that 96 sounds seems so diff to be on Cant get my head around being perched on newer 2ts.
Ok brother.. I don't know your budget.. but I can with the utmost confidence tell you if you can afford it.. send your cylinder an head to pro circuit. They can port and polish it to match your pipe and silencer to get the power curve you need.. Mike Brown rode for them several years ago (late 90s early 2000), and his bikes were faster than a lot of the big factory riders! (Yes, I'm also a fan of Brownie. He's from my home state TN)It was ported and polished and had a matching pipe and silencer and pro circuit suspension..basically it had more bells and whistles than joe blow off the street could get! I rode one of his pro circuit 250s it was either a late 90s or early 2000 model, after he traded it in at Honda of Johnson City here in TN.. It would hang with my 1985 Honda CR500 I had at the time. But if you need a little more mid an top, have her ported and polished with a matching pipe and silencer! Just make sure whoever does it knows what they're doing! Going up a tooth on the front or down a tooth on the back sprocket could make a difference.. also try what they call a phat head cylinderhead... it's a cylinder head that comes with a couple of interchangeable head sizes.. for different compressions.. try different plugs.. a Boysen Rad Valve (firm believer in them)will also help.. or you could change your gearing a little.. if you feel like tearing her down to do that.. Cheers mate. I think it depends on what level your racing at. What bikes the competition is in etc. was a lot more talent than bike 20 years ago in my opinion
