Welcome to my latest video on my 2008 Honda Element project car. In today's video, I will be replacing the front brake pads, rotors, and calipers, as well as the sway bar bushings. I have been working on this car for a while now, and I'm excited to share my progress with you all.
Replacing the brake pads, rotors, and calipers is an essential maintenance task for any car. Over time, these components wear down and need to be replaced to ensure safe and efficient braking. The sway bar bushings, on the other hand, help to stabilize the car when going around corners, and if they are worn, it can lead to handling issues and suspension noises like banging, clunking and clanking!
In this video, I'll take you through the process of replacing these components step by step. I'll show you the tools I use, give you some tips on how to make the job easier, and walk you through the process from start to finish.
If you're working on a similar project, or just want to learn more about car maintenance, this video is for you. So, grab a drink, sit back, and enjoy the video!

A great fan of the Element, so a welcoming great video...I see you saw better with the impact screwdriver for rotors on the second go-around! Ha ha! I use anti-freeze on the screws when re installing and works free with a large screwdriver on the next rotor removal! Why doesn't Honda just add a bit? -Very clean undercarriage, mine 04' here in NY not bad, but wish I had your lack of wear and no rust! I have to change out the oil pan on mine due to rust...not many video's of this procedure but you have to remove a section of the chassis. A future video for this channel maybe?

I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I did get lucky and got one that has always been a southern car. The plan is to actually pull the engine for an overhaul so I don't imagine I'll ever have remove the pan before that. Thanks for taking a moment to comment!

I am a noobie home mechanic. What cordless impact drver do you recommend? I see Milwaukee has several different torque variations. Also, i really appreciate your reminder to always use jack stands. These little things are crucial to those of us new to working on cars.

The 18v Milwaukee I use does most jobs. I have a 3/8 and 1/2 drive. For the bigger stuff I use an air impact or a breaker bar.
