My first reaction when I saw this car's spec sheet on launch - I understand now that it doesn't convey the full story - was that it wasn't anything special. But it was when DDS took it to the redline that I became a fan of the engine note, and I generally prefer inline 3 engines due to their 6-cylinder-esque note at the redline. Your video reminded me of that awesome 7000 rpm redline on the Elevate's engine too! That in turn reminded me of Honda's older legendary 4 cylinder VTEC engines in the higher Civic trims during the 1990-2008 era, along with the S2000 engine for some reason, but at a lower-set limiter.
The basic 1.5 L engine is over a decade old. Those who prefer maintaining the engine themselves will enjoy. It will last an easy 15+ trouble-free years.
Fantastic launch,love the VTEC,did it under 10.5 sec,I was actually searching some real fun car for me for spirited driving and long road trips only,never gonna drive this in city confused inbetween Seltos HTX + Diesel Manual and Elevate ZX Manual,what should you recommend for spirited driving and driving pleasure ( didn't able to took test drive of Elevate thus asking 😊 ) and is the ingear acceleration as good as turbo crdi diesel from Hyundai kia [ I mean is the midrange of this flat or punchy ]
1.5 iVTEC of Honda is way better than Hyundai/kia's 1.5 NA in terms of power delivery, performance, throttle response, Reliability and peace of mind ownership experience.. The Gem of Engineering ie Honda 1.5 iVTEC Engine..Sounds sporty & melodious too.
@@sankalplal4565 what I am trying to say is that you shouldn't do that clutch pump (the half clutch you call it) on any vehicle even if you get your hands on one.
@@MrHashisz Have not only "tried" but fully tested ALL turbos in this segment and then some. It's apparent that you haven't tried this or other vehicles, and get your jollies by just watching videos..

No doubt VTEC is the best NA and only 1.5L engine that can do sub 10 second 0-100. But a turbo is a turbo isn't? I mean you get 253nm torque at LOW 1500rpm in the 1.5L TGDI , isn't that so ? 😌
@@anowarsayeed5761 NO. They don't ALWAYS. We'll talk about the Verna when we talk about sedans. Right now, we're talking about crossovers, where this performs almost as good as those with inflated spec-sheet numbers.
