Got mine and rode it today thing looks and feels fresh off the lot besides the low sitting handle bars the battery and the forks need oiling but man awesome bike. I got mine fresh as it is for 1200 everything's stock but the tires those are new I got actually blessed for once in my life with this thing
The 650 is a much beefed up version of the 500.. it was all done to improve the engine for turbo charging. Result, an almost bullet proof engine made even better.
What I founnd with my GL500I was that the water pump seal leaked out(not into the oil) after winter lay-up. After a couple hundred km of spring use, it stopped leaking. Like that for some 7 years. Fantastic bike. You also have to make sure the coolant is the kind without an abrasive (silicate?) component.
Very well done. Might I ask what oil you used for the front forks, , , , and did that oil make for a firmer ride or does it still have that good plush ride like they did when new? Thanks!
That bike looks like it has not been take Care of and The Sound is not good Way to hard sorry to say and had 2 cx500 never had any issue with Them at all
That bike had a seized engine when I picked it up many, many years ago. It had cylinders full of seeds. I did the best I could with a bike that came from the USA to the UK, and had very few spares available over here at the time. The sound, that’s a personal preference, you may not like it, but I did, and that’s all that mattered, as it was my bike.
