Thank you very much. I like how she turned out.I did have an idea mine when I started. All the best to you and I hope you find your Silverwing.I know there are some out there.
Great review on some great bikes in history. Now I'm going play Troglodyte just so I can remember how Bertha would get out there on the dance floor and "Move" her butt. lol
I watched another channel where the guy said people are putting car tires on the back of their gold wings because they get more mileage . Beautiful motorcycle. Am looking for a commuter motorcycle . The only drawback for me is people driving cars & trucks not paying attention when operating their motor vehical
I have seen Goldwing owners (and other makes as well) go what is called "Darkside." Motorcyclists have been doing this for a long, long time. "Goldwing Docs" tested a car tire on the rear of a Goldwingb1500 with success. The biggest issue seemed to be that the bike with a car rear tire seems to want to stand up in corners as opposed to leaning. I consider a Goldwing to be more of a touring bike (we also have a Goldwing) as opposed to a commuter bike. The Silverwing is a perfect commuter bike! You are so right about other vehicles. On bikes, we need to "see and be seen." Head on swivel, eyes always scanning the road ahead. Thanks for commenting, and let us know if get your commuter bike! All the best. 😊
Nice Bike! I have one also, and have been looking for the saddle bag guards, but no luck so far. @murphymotors sold me the front engine guard, and the Markland extender for the rear trunk, really dressed the Bike up! I'm 60 yrs old, and haven't ridden a bike in years, decided on what i wanted and this bike came up, similar to my first bike 1975 Honda 400 hawk , I practiced with it all summer, and passed the skills test, and got my M class license in the fall. I love these size motorcycles, especially for newer riders, and most of all they just ooze 80's nostalgia Have fun with your bike, and thanks for posting the video!
I agree with you 100%. These are absolutely phenomenal bikes! Finding parts does take some perseverance. I remember I was trying to find a backrest for our 1982 nighthawk. Talk about a needle in a haystack! Welcome back on two wheels and ride safe. Thank you for the kind words.
I own an 82 exactly like yours. I love the upholstery color and the fringe. Mine only has 10k on it and I am second owner. Wish it had a sixth gear. I especially like the rear foot platforms. I’m going to do a bit of copy catting from you Wing.
You’ve got a beautiful bike there! I’m looking for a small touring bike similar to this and I’m planning on buying one this Spring . I see that you’re from Michigan and you also mentioned you had a mechanic that works on those older Hondas. If I buy one I may need some mechanical help . I live in Michigan too. Thanks for sharing your videos.
Thank you so much. I had a vision of what I wanted in this bike. My mechanic is "Mikes Motorcycle" on Corunna Rd in Flint. Unfortunately he doesn't take in bikes anymore, but will work of parts (carbs, forks, etc...) if you take them in to him. He is full of advice and "old Honda" wisdom. All the best to you, and thanks again.
thats a beautiful bike. Great color combination. I really dig the Silver Wings, I've been keeping an eye out for one to add to the collection. Where did you get the LED driving lights? I would like to add a pair like that to my Electra Glide.
Thank you for the kind words. I purchased the driving light on ebay. I have them on all of my bikes. All the best finding a silver wing, They truly are wonderful bikes.
I had one like this for eight years (same color). Wonderful bike. I would love to find a good GL650I. To use the helmet lock, I used a canine choke collar chain.
I have only seen a couple of 650s for sale. I understand they are great bikes, a little better than the 500. Great idea about the choke collar. Thank you for the kind words and all the best to you and yours. Happy new year!
Not sure about those designations but it clearly looks like cx 500 with this transverse V engine. There were also supercharged and fuel injection versions of the engine, too. NIce bike anyways.
Thank you. The GL was produced from 1981 to 1983 period. The 1981 and 82 models were GL500's, while the 1983 was a GL650. I was aware of the Turbo charged versions but was not aware they made a fuel injected version. Thank you so much for watching and posting!
@@boomerson2wheels 1982 version cx 500 turbo was both supercharged and fuel injected + electronics. Also a cx 650 turbo existed as her even more powerful sister (around 100 hp), too. It was a knock out by early 1980-ties standards and all within 700 cc and two cylinders.
Beautiful Sliver wing, sir. I owned a 1983 Honda custom deluxe. And my wife at the time plus myself rode 2 up on that bike. Even rode it in a poker run once. I am looking at a 1983 Honda Silver wing. Think very much about buying it. I had to sell my bike because. I had to come up with money to pay my car insurance. And I used my car for my work. Oh, the color of the seat blends very nicely with the color of the bike.
Are you saying that you want to hear the radio? The bike is winterized right now, but as soon as I put the battery back in, I will let you hear the radio. Thanks for watching!
