Me and the wife just did a 10 day 2000 mile trip from FL to the Smokies. On a road glide limited. There were quite a few gold wings we met on our trip. Like the way you set up your bike. I have the same highway peg set up.
Hello, young man. My name is Mike. I have A GL 1500 goldwing and I enjoy riding. I also enjoy very much ur clips especially with your sons and travels.... I appreciate your clips very much. Glad that you're being safe on the road. I have a question if you can respond please. I wanted to get the car tire on the rear of the bike. Can you tell me....does that alter ur speed monitor faster or slower? Does it affect it in anyway? Thank you so much. We'll continue to watch you and your family be safe.
Hi Mike.. nice to meet you. I'm glad you are enjoying the videos of me and my sons. This is something we do every fathers day. We live across the country from each other and it's our way of getting together to share a our love for motorcycles, riding and good ole' quality time with each other. To answer your question, I researched (mostly via RU-vid and GL1800 Darkside Forums) the size tire to use for my 06 Goldwing. The suggestion was a 195/55R 16 which is almost the same exact height as the stock OEM tire, so my speed has been just about the same. If anything it may show a little faster than you're actually going, although when riding on the bike tire, it does the same. So I would say it's most likely an exact match. I can't tell you if the size I use will work best with the GL1500, but I'm sure someone out there in RU-vid land has done it and should have some good information for you.
Thanks partner. I really appreciate your response. I don't know what a OEM tire RIm is, but I'll go ahead look it up and see what happens... I have a trailer hitch on my gold wing and I will be purchasing a trailer. Also, I think the car tire would be better for mileage, especially with the trailer ...thx so 4 ur response...I'll c u on the road soon hopefully...
Windshield cleaning...ALWAYS, UP to DOWN and/or Left to Right (alternating). That eliminates the checkered marks on the windscreens which enhances visibility. Good Rides
To be honest, I didn't know if I would like darksiding, so I purchased a really cheap tire from Pepboys ($60 - Definity HP800) first to try it out. Well it's been over 20k miles and rock solid since. I'm replacing it this season with a better (name brand) tire, but I haven't decided on which one yet. Looking to find a run-flat, although based on this little cheap tires performance, I'm not sure why I would want to do anything different at this point.
Friend, My buddy has a new Indian Pursuit, and his owners manual states that his bike must use 91 or higher octane.. them 87 octane prices are okay by me.. I ride a 17' audio comfort.
Hey Shawn this is Mkke again...I ask concerning a car tire on the rear of my goldwing gl 1500...one additional concern...did u hav 2 change ur tire rim or did u keep the same rim...look 4ward 2 ur response
Hi again.. I actually purchased a used OEM rim (facebook Market place) to have the car tire mounted. Took the rim and tire to a tire shop and they installed it for me. So now I have a rear rim with a motorcycle tire and one with a car tire. I figured it wouldn't hurt to have both depending on what kind of riding I'm planning to do. I took it upon myself to remove and install the tire/rim on and off the bike. Hope that helps.
I appreciate. Very much your response.I think I'm going to do likewise...i look forward to doing quite a bit of riding in the future.Just trying to bring the bike up to code.I got a real good deal on it for $3000.And it has thirty thousand miles on it.. it's in excellent condition
