Honda Grom oil change made easy. Step-by-step video showing part numbers, oil type, technique, torque of bolts, etc. Performed on 2020 model #grom #hondagrom
Finally someone who touched base on the clutch cable. Question tho any tricks for connecting the clutch cable up after case is on?Thanks soo much! Everyone else's video skipped that part!!
I was getting so mad at the side cover when I was trying to get it off but it was because I left the dipstick in. Also the oem gasket was baked onto both sides of my grom and I had to scrape it off for a good minute I think that was the worst part of the change. My spinner also had a good chunk of weird rubbery goo about the size of my thumb tip, is that normal? I bought it with 1k miles and i think I’m the first to do any maintenance
Sounds like it got pretty warm at some point. Sometimes the seal can get sticky, but I have a couple groms and haven’t had one baked on with that low of miles. But yes it can happen. Also, you may very well the first to do a quality oil change. My local Honda shop informed me most of their customers just buy the oil and drain/refill (bad idea for overall engine life/performance). As far as rubber in spinner…. Idk. You can get a nasty build up that may appear thickened, but idk about actual rubber. I’m wondering if it was just normal build up verses actual rubber. They can get pretty dirty in first 500-700 miles… and if it wasn’t cleaned after break in miles then it could definitely be pretty nasty by the time your running over 1000k miles. Especially if you run it harder.
All of the specs were found in reference material including literature, reviews, and other owners. I lean towards using the factory literature. Haven’t had an issue and this is my second grom. Hope it helps.
Mine came off almost perfectly clean. There was maybe 1/2 inch spot that had a little residue from the old gasket. I used a thin razor blade to careful remove. Then used some carb cleaner I had on the shelf to wipe the entire surface area.
Wow. Honda really fkd up on this. They are so lazy at designing it the right way. I bet the new Groms have actual filters. Like wtf?!! 😅😅 Honda ain’t suppose to be this hard. Half the damn engine removed for a damn screen lol.
