Honda Highness CB350 Saddle Stays, Grab Rail Problem, Split Seat Comfort Update

In the last video on the Honda Highness CB350, I showed you how to install the split seat that the company provides as an official accessory and how I ran into a problem with the grab rail. (Video link: • Honda Highness CB350 S... )
Turns out, the grab rail that was packaged by Honda in the box of the new seat was actually the stock grab rail, which is slightly shorter than what is needed for the new seat. I approached Honda and they changed the grab rail and provided me with the correct one.
I also installed the saddle stays that Honda provides as an official accessory for the CB350 and you would not believe how low it costs - just Rs 697.
I don't think I have heard of accessories being priced this low, ever.
The labour charge for the grab rail and the saddle stays install came out to be Rs 300.

I hardly ever comment on YT videos but have to give you a thumbs up and thank you for all the videos you have posted on the CB350. You were the first one to post videos on the bike when it came out. In the era of sponsored and promotional videos-Honda dint have a very big media drive for this bike and all the usual youtube channels missed out on it but you still bought us content on it with your honest and straight forward videos. I am cb350 owner in Taiwan. Thanks for your introduction of the official accessories. It’s very helpful. Unfortunately the cb350 here are imported by trading companies and no official dealers. It’s pity that the official accessories are all unavailable in Taiwan.

@@abhinavbhatt While puchasing a new bike Honda should offer to exchange those not so good stock fittings like those useless short stalked mirrors, short single seat, MRF tyres etc with neat, usable long stalked mirrors, that longer and better looking split seat and better quality grippy tyres from other good brands. Also I will personally opt for a standard Unicorn style Horn/Indicator switch if one is made available. And I seriously think they should. The stock one with the unwarranted reversed horn/indicator switch positions is just terrible.

Before returning bikes, can you quickly check if meteors front mudguard is a straight fit onto cb350 without jugaad. Cb350 mudguards are short and not a big fan of chrome

Platform: CB 1100 EX Single engine Dual instrument cluster Long seat Luggage carrier, with hard mounting points. Back rest Kick start, on a low battery charge. USB port with durst cap. Option to fit Centre stand, for easy service. Closed chain guard. Accessories, power ports with fuse. To protect magneto and rectifier/charger hardware. GPS, Anti theft tracker kit under locked seat. The bike has been launched in the right segment. An udated version, with these added features will bring more value to this model. A perfet family commuter bike for urban and rural towns. You must have given a fair share of your good time, sharing your experience with the all new, Honda Motorcycles, CB350. In the late 90s, Honda stopped producing the CD 200, Road Master. A safe commuter Motorcycle for a family, with a reliable engine, low hanging mudguards, rear luggage rack, side luggage box,helmet lock, option on front Steering stem for 'pad lock' like good old days! Surprisingly, the split seat is looking much better than OEM single seat on Honda. IMO it surely enhances the retro look of a bike. The idea of CBS 350 having split seat option from Honda factory can be considered. Let Honda ponder over it, after all looks do matter.

Dear Abhinav, I am totally sold on the CB350, Your videos made it all the more clearer for me to choose a bike but lately there's been a lil rumour about a CB400 Retro styled bike coming along in March 21 have you heard about it or should I not wait and go for this one? Akhil K Ajith the Meteor ticks all you boxes if you ask me. HNess will be a pain in the rear to maintain if the BigWing showroom is crazy far away from you (like 200 kms). If you have a BigWing nearby, then take a test ride of both and listen to what your heart says. You'll never go wrong by doing this.

You'll have to get an aftermarket backrest. You will have to buy the split seat separately, you can't order the bike with it.

I was wearing the best of riding gear and trust me had I not, I would have been in hospital with multiple fractures. Both arms broken, shoulders, back, one leg, ankle - I can feel the pain today - without the armour, I don't even want to imagine

Hi Bro, which one would be better option Highness or Meteor for comfort driving , I live in Bangalore and it has a lot of bad roads , for daily use of 80 km up and down , what would you suggest ? As I'm hearing seat and suspension is not that great in Highness, will it really help in day to day use in patchy roads. For me speed doesn't matter. Give me your genuine opinion

See, I think you should take a test ride of both the bikes to decide. They both have their strengths and weaknesses when it comes to comfort and it would vary for everyone based on their body and riding pattern. Only you can judge the best what will work for you.

@@abhinavbhatt Yes True , but test drive didnt really helped me , we drive for a short distance and time , but the comfort problems can be identified once we use the bike atleast for a week or month, so you have ridden these bikes for a week minimum , what was yours thoughts on the comfort and suspension? which is better

I'm more comfortable on the Honda due to its ergonomics but I prefer the suspension of the Meteor.
