They say once a biker, always a biker. I guess it holds true for me, as I am back to riding after almost a decade. I might have stayed away from bikes, but they always held a special place in my heart and soul. The idea behind this RU-vid channel is for me to take you along on my journey to improving my riding skills, sharing the knowledge that I gain, and just have a bit of fun.
Ride hard, ride safe and always gear up for the fall.
I was hoping you bought the bike. Anyway may god bless you with a garage full of your favourite bikes. I really appreciate your nature and how good of a human being you are.
I believe you took out some sort of guard or somthing to lose weight but you had to install it again for the safety of your motorcycle if I am not wrong.
This bike is meant to be a travel bike that requires an air filter clean after a few thousand km. This is not a dirt bike. You aren't going to clean the filter every two days. If you are, then you are looking at the wrong bike. Also, go tell this to Ducati, Triumph etc too, please.
@@abhinavbhatt I believe that conceptually it is a motorcycle with the same purpose as the previous one, and these advancements should not have resulted in setbacks in the ease of maintenance of the motorcycle. Many brands, despite having liquid cooling, have both the air filter and the spark plugs easily accessible.
@Sr.D look man, I had similar concerns when it was launched. Trust me, 10,000 km later, it is not a big deal. Spend time with the bike and you'd realise half the concerns we think exist, are non-issues.
Bro, even at RE workshops, most of the service guys don't use any torque wrench and simply tighten the bolt with a regular spanner. I have a Himalayan and have visited RE service centres in Chandigarh and Delhi NCR. But the chalta hai attitude is there. Chandigarh was better though in terms of following protcols but Delhi NCR certainly not. Specially for Himalayan. So the design of chassis should not have only one point of failure that if a torque wrench isn't used, it'll break. A lame reasoning.
Bunch of crap. If a chassis fails if an aftermarket crash guard is mounted , original design of the chassis is faulty. This is an offroad vehicle, chances of stress and strain on the frame while riding on tougher terrains is un avoidable. Their explanations are vague. If one loose bolt can change the structural integrity of the frame, the design of the frame is faulty. And the QA, Design teams behind this are responsible.
Try to find a dealership nearby that does not only have the knowledge, but also the spare parts, so that you do not have to miss your bike for weeks - or I even heard months! - for instance when there's a small warranty issue......
Abhinav, I am facing too much wind noise on the Himalayan 450 in spite of the touring windshield. It's so much that I cannot ride faster than 90 kmph without 3M earplugs. How do you manage to tour ?
Ok. Since you also use an intercom, don't the other riders face any issues due to your mic picking up the noise. Our group uses BluArmor and we are really struggling. Do you have any tips on how to overcome this ?
For me it's tubeless tires or a hard pass. I love my VStrom 650 with it's tubeless tires for USA touring, I'm selling my CRF Rally in Thailand with it's tubed tires and thinking of replacing it with one of these.
Let me tell you a secret, try to make a 45 degree curve it is the world class tuning. I am seeing that all the power is between 2500rpm to 3500 rpm which is not good. You will feel jerks and overall experience will be a struggle to control the bike. Torque curve is great. Try to remap the horsepower.
Well, Himalayan was a great bike when lauched, now its even more better. I hope you achieve your desired weight reduction. You can also remove the hand guards.
Very interesting video and comments about the too short sidestand, which ruined the bike for me. Hints that RE knew it was a problem at launch and are bringing a longer one out.
You looks too old now . Here RE made a wrong design frame and also poor quality metal used in this HIMLAYAN 450 . No motorcycle's engine never mounted from engine head .
@@abhinavbhatt became your subscriber because of the inty 650. I miss it, but that doesn't mean I am not watching your off road trials or being chased by a grandpa, because of you I have gained some knowledge in bikes...
In a world of Africa Twin Adventure Sports, all these bikes just seem irrelevant. That is probably the one motorcycle you could buy and forget to purchase another in this lifetime. Does everything. And of course, baked in is the Honda reliability. Plus it's incredibly economical for its engine capacity
