Honda HRX217 HXA Self-Propelled Mower Gear and Wheel Replacement 

The dust on the surface of the wheel emphasizes the depth of the tread, which makes it look a lot deeper than it actually is.

I haven't tried them, or done enough research on this statement, but it could be a good point. With my current understanding, these gears are working in a dusty environment, so a dry-lube could be a better choice.

@@yzhang8629 honda shop manual says use Honda Marine extreme pressure NLGI #2 GC-LB grease or equivalent and not to use spray lubricant of any kind

@@jts3793 Thank you for sharing this information, it is extremely helpful. I guess spray lube can do the same thing as the specified lube, if I can clean and spray the gears every few yards, but the amount of labor is preventing if from being a recommended choice

same with front wheels

Try degreaser and hot water to clean the area, then use penetrating fluid to soak the area.

Same issue, my right rear is stuck on...soaked in pb blaster and still stuck after banging with a hammer.
