Hey. Have you ever stripped the gears on axle that mesh with wheels? That was my debate in buying this mower or the Honda commercial 21 hydraulic. I kept buying the home depot version which mulched and cut great daily as a commercial use...but those gears eventually fail. I know the one in your video has same ones

I've been using the Honda HRX217 for six to seven years now and have not experienced transmission problems. Even though my mowers look like hell, I'm not rough with my equipment. I don't pull backwards while engaging the transmission. I generally don't keep my Hondas longer than two years. Besides oil changes, air filters, and sharpening the blades, I have not experienced any other maintenance issues. However, I have bent the carburetor spring a few times from hitting branches from bushes, but that is an easy fix. In fact, in this video a black berry vine did just that and I had to adjust the spring.
