@@jolse1 I will never complain about the snow I get ever again. I have used Honda snowblowers and walk behind mowers for many years. First class equipment that always performs well.

@@chatrkat I agree. Honda snow blowers are probably in the lead. The winter here started in november, and there is still a meter of snow on the ground, so a little sun and heat now, does good for the soul. Can't wait to start another type of Honda machine 😉

ICS. Intelligent Control System: The snow thrower can be operated in two different modes. In manual mode, engine and forward speed can be regulated. In automatic mode, engine and forward speed are set via the ICS system, which optimizes snow clearing capacity and reduces emissions.

I had a kraken last year, I sold it to get an HSM1336i. The Honda moves as much or more snow per hour, farther, without you having to run after it. (truthfully, the Kraken's travel speed is fast, no doubt! But, if the snow is as tall as the blower housing you have to dramatically slow down the working speed of the Kraken). It comes down to better volumetric efficiency on the Honda. Also the Auto-Turn Feature on the new Ariens is something that needs a lot of work. On even flat pavement its fine, take it to break trails, off pavement and the slightest off angle or shove to keep it cutting straight on a side incline and the machine lets go and tries to turn. Only time I ever noticed the Ariens was faster than the 1336i was after the job is done and Im walking it back to the garage to put it away, but, about 20 minutes later than I get done with the same job with the Honda.

@@jolse1 Yeah I kind of thought that is what you say, I get about what you have in the video, sometimes that much 3 times a year. If it is not that much at once then I get more smaller amounts which at the end of 3 or 4 months the snow banks are just as high. How many hours do you have on your machine? Do you know how long the hybrid batteries last? Have you had any problems with the machine at all? Thanks in advance, AC

Same snow conditions as we have here in the north 🇧🇻 It is a 2010 model, which has had up to 120 hours one winter. Replaced batteries in 2019. Have never had any trouble with it. Have encountered rocks, logs, fire pans, power cords and flower pots, but no major repairs. Has probably replaced 50 break pins / bolts 😏 It is a very solid and reliable machine.

Did Honda just realize this would be cheaper than a hydrostatic system (and have similar performance) or is there a reason from a usability perspective that Honda design these blowers as a "hybrid." Any advantages you can see inherent to this design that can't be accomplished with the hydrostatic platform of the smaller blowers? Just curious

Hybrid technology: To achieve optimal control, Honda's unique hybrid technology uses the engine power in two ways: firstly by the engine driving the generator which charges the batteries for the belt drive. Second, by transferring maximum power directly to the infeed auger for a superior snow clearing result.
