Hi Rob you are bang on got a Honda 537 myself operated them for 14 years and several other Professional mowers also. In my opinion best professional mower out there... myself I also have Sthil battery mower 448 too good for light work but nothing near the quality and finish of the Honda 537. Good on you Rob you are doing a grand job. All the best from Wales Idwal.

I treated myself and bought a Honda mulch mower today. I have always wanted a Honda and have used several other brands over the past 30 years. Pitty they are going to stop making petrol engines. The whole world has gone mad in my option. Enjoying your videos and keep up the good work.

Thanks John. I am now getting messages that they are only stopping production in America. All the best.

Hi Rob, Honda is not going to stop production of petrol mowers. There company in Carolina in America where it produces mowers is going to produce atvs here and in France they are going to continue making petrol mowers and with no expectation that they will discontinue them. This was got from a Honda rep not a Honda dealer. So keep buying your Hondas! Come on Honda🤣

Your right Paul. Honda are producing innFrance for Europe and the UK. I did put this out recently. Yes I do love Honda. 👍🏻

Hi Rob. As much I respect the Honda engines I never really liked any of the mowers I had, or used, that featured Honda power. No mower is perfect, but for me, the Hayter Harrier series with the Briggs & Stratton engines were what I used almost exclusively. The mower I use today is a Hayter Harrier Pro 48 and I've hardly has any problems with it since I bought it in 2014. Not sure if electric power is better for the environment long term over the combustion engine, as batteries have a huge carbon footprint. Time will tell.

I can totally understand why it would be an excellent idea to phase out petrol wbh mowers for the domestic scale market. But for commercial use? Like you say, they're just not up to heavy duty work yet...and probably not in 2 years either. Hi Rob when I linked you the news about Honda it went on to say they don't think part availability won't be an issue for many years. I believe this to be true and I'd have no hesitation in buying Honda products now. If your worried and feel the drive on your Honda may go at some point. Then buy the part now and potentially future proof your mower? Battery mowers. I know EGO produce some battery mowers that will cut through the toughest of stuff. But your right. Battery power for a commercial mower isn't quite there yet. Run time is the issue. Not power. The machine itself is circa £400 and the smallest 2.5ah EGO battery is just short of £100 a go. I'd be surprised if you got 25 mins from that. Bigger ah batteries are available that will give you up to 40 mins run tine but obviously there more expensive . So the £ numbers don't stack up yet. Maybe in 2-3yrs time. But not now.

Wasted £1,000 each on two Honda Pro rear roller mowers twenty years ago. Absolute waste of money, only lasted a few months each, terrible gearbox and drive failings. It was the replica versions such as Kaz, SARP and Lawnflite which saved the day, Got my money's worth but in the end, repairs were £250, extortionate cost,...so I phased out large lawn mowing and use only Masport 18'' SP RR, excellent and reliable, £650 brand new. Battery tech is already at a stage where it makes petrol kit obsolete for commercial use, with the exception of backpack blowers. HRX 537 is a great mower, disposed of my last one at the end of last season. That being said, the Stihl RMA448 18" battery mower that I've been using for the past two seasons runs rings around the Honda. The only thing the Honda does which the Stihl doesn't is variable mulch. I can live without that for all the other benefits 👍
@maxwellsgrasscuttingservices
Your obviously very clued up on equipment. Are you really saying that the Stihl rma 448 18 inch can mow for five hours per day, five days per week, for a 34 week of the grass cutting season. Really. How many ap 300 batteries would you need per day. Thanks for watching and your comment.
@ftgoggi4715
@ftgoggi4715 Год назад
@@maxwellsgrasscuttingservices Don't get me wrong, there's pros and cons for both battery and petrol. But, on balance and from my experience, the pros of battery far outweigh the cons. The only petrol kit I run now is my backpack blower and 44" mower. Going battery has helped me thin down on kit so that everything now fits in the back of my SWB van....inc. the 44" mower. Without banging on about how and why I do what I do, the short story is that efficiency is key for my business. With that in mind, if i think a piece of kit could improve efficiency then I buy it and try it. If it doesn't work out then I move it on. My RMA has done two seasons now and it's shown no signs of wearing out. I maintain a turnover of kit for the obvious reason so my mate is having my current RMA off me and I'll pick up a new one for next season. I only run two mowers now, the RMA and the 44". The 44" for the stuff that was really too big for my previous 21" and the RMA for everything else. The RMA is an excellent mower, imo it both bags and mulches better than the HRX, it is half the weight so doesn't rut and is so light that you don't even need to use its drive. Honestly can't speak highly enough of it, they now have a very strong following with contractors inc. local councils. Yes, you absolutely can use it as full commercial. Obviously it's not going to be as strong as a 60kg commercial mower but I haven't managed to break it yet. Demo one and see what you think, I'd be interested to know? Oh, I run six off AP300 batteries, which would comfortably handle a days worth of mow, strim, blow and go. The BGA86 battery blower is a cracking bit of kit too btw 👍

This is correct and the decision was driven by stricter environmental regulations and changing customer preferences in the US market. You may remember at dealer conference it was presented that all pedestrian mower production for Europe has now transferred to our facility in Orleans, France. This gives Honda in Europe independence and European markets won’t therefore be impacted by the change in the US market. Honda remains committed to the production of the entire range of petrol mowers for Europe. If you receive any questions from customers, please use this position on a reactive basis. Thank you for your continuing support for our Honda Power Products business. Kind regards Stephen Morris Head of Power Products

Thank you for that. I have tried to look this up online and can’t find any information. I am a huge Honda fan. How did you come by this information. Thanks for watching and your comment.

Hi Rob. This was discussed on the landscape juice forum this week ( great little forum, worth checking out). Someone started a similar conversation to yourself and I have just copied and pasted it on here for you.

That is sad news on the Honda petrol lawnmower front Rob but like you rightly say it should open a gap for other maker's to grab the bull by the horns on Rob you keep getting stuck in and looking after yourselves won't you buddy

Cheers Wayne. 👍🏻

Honda have been overtaken on lawnmower design and been left behind by other top manufacturers anyway. Even cheaper mowers have better deck designs that collect better and don't have constant gearbox issues and wheelbearing issues and so on.

Thanks for watching Brian. Appreciate your comment.
@martindalelawnlandscaping6660
You could spend the money that you were thinking of spending on a ride on mower on 5 Hondas and keep them in stock for years to come
@maxwellsgrasscuttingservices
Great idea. All the best.

I can see Honda have been having a hard time with crazy politics /environmental laws going on in the US. Maybe U.K. will be OK for a while longer. Honda are famous for their longevity so hopefully we will be able to obtain parts for a long time to come . Watch this space , I guess.
@maxwellsgrasscuttingservices
Fingers crossed. All the best.

Hi Rob I understand what you’re saying with regards to battery mowers etc as I brought 2 ego mowers 21inch is crap so I sold it and got the 19inch which is much better however it still wasn’t there for me so I brought a stihl rma448vc and it’s the best 4 wheeler mower I have ever bought it has 2 battery slots one for the one in use and one for a spare also has the mon o handle which has manny benefits it has a option for eco-mode which means when the blade is under strain. It will kick up the rpm. However I don’t use it. I’ll leave mine on full speed constant with an ap 500 S battery on eco mode I can get 2 hours mowing and no Eco around 1-1.5 hours mower constant it’s 18inch cut and it weighs 24kg without Battery and Weighs 28 with 2 of the biggest batteries drop me a message on 07398750442 as I’ve spent a lot of time looking at different brands and am happy to help and give you my advice
@maxwellsgrasscuttingservices
Thanks Jack. I respect your views, but I feel battery lawn mowers just aren’t there yet. All the best.
