Just did this to my wife’s 13 pilot after watching this and it fixed the thumping steering wheel. Also did the water pump and timing belt on it after watching your other video. Thanks BUD for the info!! Keep ‘em coming!
For anyone watching, just use the telescoping function to pull the steering wheel all the way out. Clean, grease, and push/pull the wheel all the way in/out a few times. Beats taking that bolt off - especially if you aren’t mobile or inclined to tight spaces and awkward angles. Note. Not a mechanic just offering an alternative to this method.
Its the proper fix. The splines are meant to have a little wiggle room. Otherwise the splines would wear. The factory grease that stops that noise dries out over time. A simple re-application will prevent the noise for years to come.
