Great video. Thank you! I am new to Honda a bit and did not know about the spool valve gasket. Can you post the link to that spool valve gasket you used please?
just type honda spool valve gasket plus the year and model of your vehicle on amazon, make sure it matches as their are different versions of this valve.
Same.... Haven't had a problem yet. Had TB done at 225k.. It runs like a clock. My buddies wife has one also and she forgot to do the oil change for an entire year, surprisingly hers has survived and keeps on going.
yea, I noticed after the fact, eventually learned this cars engine was replaced, but this engine had issues. The leak was still their after all this and found out it had bent valves.

Worst vehicle I have ever purchased. Thought honda was a dependable car. It is until it starts giving you problems then it's one problem after another. I will never purchase another pilot in my life. The $$$$ keeps adding up no thnx honda never again.
agreed, even after doing this, I still had the problem, turns out it was a bad head, delt with bad coil pack, failed timing belt tensioner, I ended up selling it and getting a toyota highlander, hated this suv.
@@DLMGarage Yeah the timing belt tensioner is designed to go right at 100k and you don't want to wait or you risk damaging the engine. So that was $1200 and with the other fixes I have dumped 3k into this veh in just the last 6mos.
I hate to hear that Mr Smith, I've got a 2010 MDX with 288K and it's had a few problems but I can't complain. These engines like synthetic oil(10-30 or 40 in Texas). The last TB I installed was a Blue Gates that's Kevlar and I expect it to last 200K from installation. There's a company out in Florida that makes a manual belt tensioner I'll install when it goes out. (P2R Power Rev Racing) It was roughly $650 for both cams(OE) and a couple rocker arms and they can be swapped without pulling the heads. Any BMW, Audi, MB is going to be more expensive to repair and probably much harder to work on. Something I see on a lot of videos is no one checks the PCV System for good function. Varnish buildup inside, cheap oil and not changed often enough. I don't have VCM but I'd disable that first thing with all the problems it creates. At 26:25 the small hose that goes from the Valve Cover to the Intake pulls all the Blowby out of the engine and fills up with deposits until it clogs up. Keep it cleaned out. Maybe you got one that was neglected I don't know but Honda/Acura and Toyota/Lexus have the best names in the industry for a reason. Anyway, it pulls my boat pretty good, could use more torque. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--Pa8_Jkk1wc.html
