I love my X991. Looks sharp in my Saturn SL2. You have so much control over the sound especially when you have "many" speakers. Boston Rally RC 620's amount others make for a nice ride!

Yes, I used the time alignment to compensate for the small cabin and relatively low tweeter positions. It took quite a while to get just right, but I was able to raise the soundstage without physically relocating the tweeters. The headunit also has settings stored for single-seat and two-seat stored in two of the six memory locations. I wish Kenwood would make their newer head units like this classic.

Yes, the DTA took a while for me to set up as well. Part of it is getting it "right", and part of it is getting the sound tailored to your preference. I desoldered all of the internal LEDs and replaced them with amber LEDs to match the rest of the illumination on the vehicle's dash. You are right, I have the X693 but that, the X991 has not being surpassed yet! I love that screen, and de user interface, a friend of mine has the X991 It's sad Kenwood doesn't manufacture it anymore

I have the same head unit. Im loving it. I AM having trouble adjusting Digital Time Alignment. its confusing!! How come your buttons are orange high-light not blue like mine??
