For those who are asking about Kill Bill's new song, here's the ling: soundcloud.com/kill-bill-on-the-beat/dirge-feat-rav-prod-jpn One thing I just now realized is that I wished I had been doing annotations along the way kind of explaining why I'm doing certain things. Like why I was drilling holes in my handle bars and stuff. Because not everyone knows! If there is anything else you'd suggest, please suggest it! There's only probably one or two more episodes in this series left... but fear NOT! I already have another bike lined up and going with a completely different look. I plan on making it alot easier to follow along and try and help as much as possible. Maybe for some people who don't have welding experience.
i just got my first bike (17), i’ve watched you for years and i can finally get an idea of what you experience. 50 gives me an adrenaline rush so i can’t imagine doing 180 on the h2
Custom bike not supported by patreon? God forbid you try to get sponsors and use ad revenue so you can build the bike. Its like you forgot to water the money tree in your backyard.... #sarcasm Love your work @diwd, keep it up. Not envious even slightly for the years of hard work and dedication youve soaked into cultivating this channel, or the hours you soak into editing/twitch streaming. Its amazing you still make time to have a life and a relationship. Have fun buddy. Give Laura a high five for me.
Hey just wanted to say I really love these videos, I've definitely learned a few tricks or tips. I'm currently in process of a complete swapped frame rebuild of a Z1000. It was my brothers, sadly he lost his life on it, but I'll never get rid of the bike but I also can't stand to look at in its current condition. I've done a lot of the mechanical part of it, what is holding me up is electrical. The bike lost so many parts when it tumbled I don't know exactly what I'm missing, I found the ecu in the field. The repair manual is frustrating at best to follow electrical. Anyways keep up the great content!
Really enjoying this build, I'm soon to start my own project making a hardtail bobber out of a xj600! Watching this unfold is really giving me motivation! Can't wait to see it fully built!
I remember looking up bikes. Last year and the Honda shadow is the one i fell in love with. I see this video and I’m like yeah dan is doing a shadow build.
Found this series and enjoyed watching every bit of the build. Curious why I have up to and including episode 4 but nothing that shows the completed build with all the finishing touches! Am I alone on this or does that not exist?
Dan, those welded on bolt will break off for sure. You need to drill and tap those mounting bosses and screw a bolt in from the bottom. No kidding, you don't wand your butt on the fender unannounced!
Everyone knows that no one actually watches the sponsorships, we know, Dan knows, I know, everyone knows, expect for the company sponsoring the video. It’s great for Dan though, good job buddy.
I can't remember the video or who it was, but I saw a dude put his speedo somewhere under the left handlebar of the bike attached to the frame and I loved it. Also, maybe ditch the on/off switch on the hand controls and put them somewhere else?
that thing looks freaking sweet!!! i love the look!! and to think you were doubting yourself at first. now you have a badass one off custom bobber! id totally drive that thing!
wow you made a lot of progess in these few videos, I know it takes much longer for you but you word quick it's turning out so great, love the build series
Nice work big dog! It seemed like a totally appropriate amount of effort for the work accomplished, I'm 48 years old and have wrenched on stuff for as long as I can remember and I think organization is my biggest downfall but even though there are some guys that could have made that look easy I wouldn't have done it any faster or easier between searching for the lost wrench that's in my back pocket and digging the dropped hardware out of the engine it would have been a total shit show!!
I've seen a few of yer videos but I didnt know you did actual real fabricating on yer bikes, that's f'n awesome. the build is looking good. ima go back and watch the first three parts...
Love the video dan, been watching for a while I just don't comment often. Halfway through my own 08 kx250f supermoto build. Good luck on the new bike. Give Jax a Good boy from all the subs!
Está ficando sensacional!! Eu comparo a Shadow como uma Harley, porque a Shadow é uma moto excelente para customizar. Eu já estou com a minha 3ª. Shadow.
Hi Dan, I've been watchin this Shadow Build series and have been Absolutely amazed how talented you are at making decisions and Making them come to life. I am new at RU-vid and am having slight difficulty finding the next video in this series. Does this build become the "Warhorse"? Is there another video between the reveal and # 4 test ride. I am about to go look at a 2008 Shadow and will be attempting my first build. Just got a lower back fusion done last week and will be down 4 to 6 weeks until I can really start so I'm just filling my brain with Ideas so I don't go insane sitting here. I'm selling my 2008 Street Glide this week and will use some of the money to do this build. You're an absolute inspiration for me. Keep up the amazing work. I'm Just hoping you see this. Since the bike has that modern look to it I would have used a bicycle monoshock for the seat mounted to that vertical upright, that way you can adjust the firmness of the ride.
Sooo just figured id let you know. For the past couple days i didnt get any notifications for vids. The bell "shut itself off". Might want to mention that.
If you work more smoothly with the grinder rather than jiggling it and shaking it around as you work... your work will come out better, and you'll put less stress on the wheel. Let the tool do the work, man.
to get the contour on those mounts right, try clamping it in a vice and using a hole saw on your benchpress. Might save you some time, works well for pipe at least, might be harder on round stock though.
Nice work madman. Ya need to get yourself a grinding belt setup for all those fabbed up parts. It will make your life easier. Great job man, real nice work.
So if you would put a block of wood or something between the fixed jaw and the small diameter material you’re cutting in that saw you would be able to cut it much easier and put less stress on the blade because the material would be directly under the saw as opposed to on the side
Dan The Man when your doing the hand controls how did you manage to drill the gripping hole in the correct spot? i changed bars before and had to drill 2 before i got it haha. youve done it first time and i just wondered if there was an easier way. GOOD WORK love the bike.
You should have welded the brackets to mount the seat to the inside... works better and looks better. And ditch the chain tensioner you put on there complete. Just get a shorter chain or shorten it so the original one can adjust the slag. I got more things but those two would really be great things to change.
Is it legal to ride on self modified bike in america just like that or you need to legalize it? By the way, coolest build for a shadow ive seen in youtube. Very inspiring. Keep doing your thing
