A parked empty car in a field in the summer helps out a lot in lining tanks and drying painted motorcycle parts. Seriously gets up to like 170 degrees in there.

Being from New Orleans, I can def say, line your tanks. Lived in San Antonio and Phoenix also. Don’t skip that step. Get a case of beer and jam out on the patio or wherever.

I just cant find a tank thats in good condition that i like the shape of.... my stock tank has tons of pin holes but also some extra large pin holes... do i just tape over the holes and then seal or should i try welding them closed?

ok. stop. you can NOT just tape holes closed. you'll be a fireball dude. you need to either have an experienced fabricator fix it, or find a replacement. Furthermore, you cant just drain and weld, the tank will explode, you need to get all the gas and vapors out of the tank before welding it. be careful please.,

How long do u rotate the tank every 15 min after you drain the red kote? Before you just let it stand still and air dry?

i’m not saying it’s the greatest thing but i’ve used pool acid to clean a shitty gas tank and then used red kote no issues.

I have a question! I have a '06 Honda Shadow Spirit 750. My tank was "Kreamed" at Honda service but now when I fill my tank, gas flows out of the vent tube(lower right of tank) onto the ground until the gas level drops down like a 1/4 of a tank. It seems when I leave my gas cap open it does not. This never happened until I got it "Kreamed". I was deployed so I didn't notice this until a year later. What can I do? Suggestions please, Semper Gumby.

So I’ve used por 15 in my tank and it’s starting to flake up after a couple of weeks. So I’m going to try red kote. Has anyone had any flaking with red kote? Removing the old liner is going to be a pain so I want to make sure I get it right this time

Hey thanks for the cheap idea of clr to remove the rust from my tank was gonna buy back to black rust remover an clr is cheaper can get it at dollar tree for a buck.Question I am wanting to clean up all the crap in the engine area of my 96 vt 1100 and wondering if I can bypass the fuel pomp and filter and go from petcock to in line filter to carbs since my bike has dual carbs
