I reassembled and installed the carb on the Honda Shadow vlx 600. I also start the bike and see how it runs!!!

Why even post a video if you're not gonna explain and show everything. I took carburetor off my 1999 and I cannot get it back the way it goes and there's more lines than just coolant lines and throttle cables

I have a 96 600 dual carb I ripped everything off of the vacuums all that homemade velocity stacks on it cuz the other ones are too tall but it won't run unless I put a screen with a piece of foam in there

Also reckon youre bang on about the battery being the issue with it running now the honda shadows are notoriously fussy about their batteries if its anything below 11.8v it wont want to run or it will run like crap as is the experience i had with mine when the battery went bad

How many turns out was your pilot screw? I didn’t hear you say and I think that’s the problem I had. Did you adjust that at all after installing the carb, or was your bench setting good enough?

Hey I just got my carb rebuilt on my 2007 vlx600, bike only had 3000 miles. I cant get fuel going to the carb. any suggestions? carb was cleaned spotless on the inside

Check the petcock is in the correct position, if that isn't the issue, disconnect the fuel line at the carb and make sure fuel is flowing to it. If it is, make sure the float isn't stuck.tap the bottom of the carb with a rubber mallet.

I’m restoring a 99 Honda shadow vlx 600 and I’m a little unsure if I’m putting everything where it belongs. And if it’s not too much to ask, also the same for the coolant reservoir tank. TJ over at TJ Brutal Customs talks about that. He says to make sure and put a bolt or something in with a clamp, because they are under pressure, but they aren't really necessary as it is very rare for a carb to freeze up... They are there to warm the carb and prevent it from icing.

This is my view as well. The heat prevents carb icing at low throttle settings. Carb ice chokes off the induction air by restricting the passage as it builds up. Airplanes use heated air captured from around one of the exhaust risers as an alternate (and unfiltered) engine air source that heats up the induction air to do the same thing in a much different way.

Thanks for the video. It is helpful but hard to see some stuff. I have the same bike, cleaned the carb and noticed I have a very small filter that I don't remember seeing when I took it apart and I didn't see it in your video. Can you tell me where this small filter goes?

I'm trying to get mine back together and my throttle won't return after being pulled. The cables move free when not hooked up.

This is usually due to a cable routing issue. It most likely is getting pinched somewhere.

Thank you for your response! That doesn't seem to be my problem though. I'm starting to wonder if it was like this before I took it apart and never noticed. Can I try to lubricate them or should I just go straight for replacement?

@@tomsmith1754 Try to lube and make sure the throttle isn't getting stuck somehow. IF those two don't ersolve the issue, go for new cables.

Problem solved! I played around with the slack adjuster, and found a sweet spot. Thanks for your advice, and also for the videos. You made a subscriber out of me!

hi I am just starting to repair my bike, it is a Honda Shadow 99 but when i turn the switch on it does not turn on the lights and everything. What should I do? (btw it is my first time trying to repair something).

Make sure your battery is charged, make sure the battery is connected to the bike, check all the fuses. That would be my first steps.

@@rabidsquirrelgarage745 Updating it was the battery. Also the electric motor for start the bike was stuck so I give it a litle hit and everything fine. BUT now when it's on it does not stay like that i need to accelerate in order to maintain the engine on.

Your camera angle is showing the back of your hand and sleeve that is covering up what you are doing otherwise this might be helpful.

Video named - reassembly, install... What is the point to show the video when it's impossible to see the actual reassembly? Since childhood any boy can take things apart, but how to put it back and make it work, that it the question that should have been answered in this video which has none of it... Was intreaged by its name and turned to be a dissapointement. Sorry...
