Hello great video, I have a rzr turbo and I was having to replace the filter all the time so what I did I installed a uni filter which is reusable and a s&b particle separator and it works great the filter stays clean and I don’t have to worry about getting dirt or rocks in my air system. It’s a great investment if you want your utv to last a long time
Great review! Well edited video. Liked the voice over on the trail riding footage, keeps things interesting. Thanks for keeping the video focused on pertinent info. So many ATV/UTV videos are filled with people rambling on and on. Really interested in learning more about the air cleaner.
i rarely subscribe to chanels but you sound like a real nice dude ,honest comments and riding your machine like i would, enjoying it and not beating the crap out of it a real nice reliable ride
Great machine. Love Honda's. Little surprised they didn't move the radiator to the back like the Yamaha. Just seems so smart to protect it from mud, impact, and ability to remove some weight from the front while also increasing visibility from lowering the angle of the hood.
Really great update/review. The mix of action footage, drone footage and walk around are great. Never seen a particle separator for a SXS. Thanks again for making these videos.
You should definitely consider posting links to all your aftermarket parts u are reviewing in the description ... Would really help for those that want to follow ur mod list for their own 👍🏼 Always high quality videos as always
So glad I did not get sucked into a UTV. In Montana you will be enjoying the forest roads on these going 25mph as that is the speed limit. My Can Am outlander can go on all trails many of them limited to 50 inches. No I don’t ride 70 mph on a road in the forest because that is illegal in all places in Montana.
Nice unit. The dct is definitely cool and it's nice Honda finally showed up. I drove a talon last week for the first time and I found the suspension to be almost unbearable. I even got out to check a couple times to make sure it was full soft. It did good over big whoops but over the small chatter I needed a sports bro. My tits were raw from all the rubbing. I currently own a 17 RZR turbo and I feel like it's a much smoother ride. I only rode the talon for 45 minutes so take it for what it's worth
You need to put F150 step board mounts to tuck to clean up that Super duty. Direct bolt and looks tons better. I also got those rear view mirrors in 2" dia but they dont have enough adjustment to mount to my XP Pro...they look awesome on your ride and i bet the vertical size helps when you are climbing...Beauty full machine!
Torn between the KRX and The Talon.....Not sure what I want to get....Can't go wrong with Honda, Company in know for reliability!! But I do like the look of the Talon....
Pull that little white plastic sleeve out of the intake part of the gas tank. Will allow you to fully fill the tank. Did it on my pioneer 1000 and it works.
Welcome. I know I was getting frustrated when I switched gas stations when I lived back home. The one place would let me “top” it off and the other I could never fill fully. Found that little piece of info on the Honda pioneer Facebook Or hondasxs.com. I filled up once since I moved to AZ and that pump allowed a complete fill also.
thanks, its funny i was just at the competition the other day and a salesman was telling me how bad the transmission was on the Honda, I was calling bs on him to his face
Honda was the first to put a DCT in a motorcycle and also in a side by side, if you are going to try & bash Honda for anything it better not be their DCT.
Honda is a no-brainer. Always had good engineering. The only thing I don't like is the multiple pivots in the rear suspension. A little slop in each joint adds up to more slop than a lityle slop in a few joints. Also more expensive to overhaul.
Not sure on the technical differences between those X-Comps and the 35-12.50-17s I had on my 2500 pickup but I'm betting you'll be plenty happy with the durability. I towed heavy and often with an equal mix of on road/gravel here in the midwest and I felt like they were the toughest and longest lasting tire I have owned to date. That's even after having the General Grabber Red Letters too.
Seconded.. I own a 2018 Teryx4 and followed your updates.. have been eyeing the talon since it came out and want to know more about the two compared.. already thinking about upgrading to a talon 4 seater
My question is the engagement when you take off. I have heard it's aggressive or harsh engagement. I need really smooth and easy for loading in a very tight quartered toy hauler. I need to be able to inch it along not jerky.
Great question. Actually it does take some time to become accustomed to the DCT, but I adjusted very quickly and can control it with ease. Thanks for the view
If Honda upgrades this to the same motor that the new African Twin uses (the bike that this motor comes from) it will get the upgraded DCT, ECU and has a superior shift pattern. What you describe is the same problem original African Twin riders complained about. You wont mind the extra HP and Torque either. Perhaps in 2021?
@@47rhorvath fyi the 10 ply rating only applies to the tread face, the sidewalls are still 3 ply, which is why they seem more flexible. Nice Honda rig.
I had a full service done at 200 miles..dropping all of the oils including the front-rear diff's and the DCT transmission as well...Used full synthetic across the board..air filter..... tires were by choice.
My yxz is the funnest car to play with in the sand dunes nothing compares to it but in the open desert you have to spend a lot of money to get it to ride decent through the big bumps so I think I'm going to get a Talon 4 seater to play with in the open desert
@@DUNEATV if you ever get a chance to go down to Mexico and pre-run the Baja 500 or 1000 course I highly recommend you'll know exactly what I mean lots of big bumps
Did you stay with the stock wheels, if not, what offset wheels are you using? I've heard if you go with 5/2 and put 1" spacers on the rear you stay close to 6 8.4" width. Just wonder what you did.
Thanks for the fast reply. I have a 2019 Talon R, just ordered 32" Tusk Terrabites . Loving the Talon, after 8 years driving two different RZR's, Great new experience.
You can feel the difference, actually at first it’s very apparent but the DCT transmission computer kind of re-maps itself and re-learns and it adjusts over a period of time you can still feel a slight difference but it’s not as substantial..
Okay so you're pretty verse than these and I'm about to get my first one and I'm want to Polaris it doesn't matter as long as you have fun the Honda looks really nice too but can you carry spare fuel in a can with those just any side by side or can you carry spare gas or is it too bumpy at to shaky for a can for spare gas to be carried
You can actually carry a spare gas can however I would not recommend your regular red plastic gas can I would recommend you spend the extra money and buy a can from a reliable Motor Sports source because they hold a very tight seal. That would be a way to spoil a days fun with gasoline leaking on a hot engine or getting intoxicated from gasoline fumes. Thanks for the view
@@47rhorvath no doubt that it helps. Ita a high performance motor which requires more maintenance. Cleaning an air filter isn't that bad of a job, you should have 2 at a minimum so that you always have a clean one to throw in. I love in the midwest so it's not as big of an issue, butbhave friends that are motorcycle mechanics and learned a lot from them. Something as simple as an air filter can destroy an engine is all I'm saying. Driving a machine like this in the desert to me would be getting a freshly cleaned air filter after every 10 hours of run time max
Nice review... looks like it can handle more challenging places than what you’re used to. You could maybe say it’s more of a trailblazer now. No need to stay on the trails anymore, lol. Not with a beast like that!!!
Great review, I am considering a Talon because of the Honda reliability and no belt to worry about. I am in need of a 4 seater so I am waiting for more reviews on them. Keep up the reviews I enjoy them. Also what part of AZ are you located? I am in Sierra Vista and some of that footage looked familiar.
Thank you for the view and yes I will be happy to continue with my reviews, it’s been a great machine.I live in the state of New Mexico the southern portion of the state near Las Cruces
You can eliminate the the slow tank fill problem by poking a hole in the fill spout tube that extends down into the tank from the top of the fuel fill neck. I used a 1/4" chisel to do this on mine or you could use a punch or even drill the hole. I do not like the idea of drilling the hole as it could drop the cut material into the tank. To locate where to punch the hole. you can judge where the top of the tank is at in relation to how far down to make the hole. Mine had a line around the inside of that tube and i cut the hole just below that. This will let the trapped air escape and fill to the top of the tank. I fueled up yesterday with one bar showing and was able to put 7.6 gal. in my Talon X. I had done this on my Polaris RZR also and never had had any issues in the 17000+ mile that I had it. Hope this helps...DKK
@@47rhorvath i have around 700 on my 2019 rzr. I was wondering how many miles you can put on this thinks before engine brakes?🤔 I take care my rzr real good
If you think these are dangerous, dont even look at a ATC from the 70s/80s........I dont know how any kid born in the 70s is still alive I tell ya. Those 3 wheelers were death machines ......bla bla, bla.......you sound like a real hoot. Just like anything else, they are only as dangerous as the people driving them.
@@47rhorvath No need to apologize to me. The background noise was about the last thing I took away from the video. My comment was more directed at his nit picking.
Nice being RicH eHH...! I couldnt AfforD 1 of the Tire's.. on tht thing...! WAY over Priced Toy...! For tht price, the thing should Blow & #@%$ you... And do ur Dishes...WoW
Thanks for the view and comment....I agree with you, however I'm far from RICH....I'm 50 years old, served in our Military, worked my entire life and still work 65 hours a week, raised 2 kids, now have 3 grand kids......Everything my wife and I have up to this point in our lives has been earned with hard work... I'm not in the best best of health anymore and choose these types of activities to enjoy the time I have left before everything catches up with me and I can't do them anymore........However I do understand how it may seem that way...Hope you and your family have a great Holiday season, and again thank you for the view and feedback...
