I imagine this 755cc transalp engine in a mk1 verseys. Would be an absolute gem. I feel the verseys looks improved. But to me the bike actually got worse each time. The mk3 looks like its the verseys 1000 now.

Good video! Since you're fairly new to all this, I thought I'd respectfully offer a tip. Those beautifully colored leaves can often become slick as ice when they come out on the roadway. Enjoy your new bike!!

Hi Errol. Think you've made a great choice. I'm guessing you prefer pootling around the B roads, exploring country lanes and gravel tracks, as opposed to pinning the throttle round sweepers with your knee down. Coming from a Himalayan, the Transalp must feel like a spaceship! Another great 'explorer' bike for the UK is the TA's baby brother, the CB500X. Bit more oomph than the Himmie, but not as competent off road. the CB (now renamed NX) is only let down by its power output. Well capable of putting a big smile on your face and travelling at well over the national speed limit, but it's a bit laboured on long distance journeys on the motorway. This is where the Transalp will come into its own....it should be nice, easy going and compliant on the back roads but the extra HP will broaden the scope for travelling farther afield. It's definitely on my 'possibles' list, along with the Yamaha Tracer 7, Tiger 900 GT and Suzuki 800 RE, when I finally get round to selling my CB 500 X. NB/ some of the vibrations you feel may well be down to the fact that the engine and box are still 'settling in'. Also, adding crash bars can amplify engine vibrations. Loved the video... Enjoy your new Toy!

Thankyou Billy, the CB500x was in fact going to be my bike of choice! My instructor had one and he raved about it! That was until I spotted the Transalp. Thanks for watching I really do appreciate it.

Mine is coming in today! Little nervous and excited. I’m about two years in on my motorcycle journey. Definitely feeling that imposter syndrome too. Awesome video!

A very enjoyable and funny video - thanks for that, and your candour. You are something of a stand-up comic! I'm betting you are aware of the irreverent work of Monty Python. Yes, the Transalp is a well-finished and user-friendly model, in spite of a few shortcomings (like no air temperature function) and you can look forward to it becoming smoother as you put more miles on it. At 6,500 kms now on my (also white) new Transalp, I have been pleasantly surprised as the vibes around 4,000 RPM disappear after about 4,000 kms (2,500 miles). I know from travelling in the UK that you guys didn't really go fully metric... I have been riding since 1962, with never 'a year off', and I enjoy mine too, so it's not just a bike for those new to motorcycling, even though it is being seen a bit that way in some quarters. RU-vid never offered me your videos before, but I might try and find some now! The 'fashion segment' truly hilarious. I also bought a new jacket to go with my new bike, but I stayed a bit subtler with grey, and a touch of blue, being a bit older... Enjoy your new toy. Good luck with the 'imposter syndrome' - I suspect it's more in your own head than in reality, and worth forgetting about. Many years in the motorcycle industry made me aware of the number of pretenders in motorcycling... The longer you ride, the less you will give a - you know - about what anyone else thinks! Get a few more miles on it when the weather permits. I have had mine a similar length of time as you, but we get more riding days here (South Australia). I just fitted a set of Pirelli STR tyres to mine, whch made the loose surfaces easier to ride. Better off-road grip and a smoother engine for you to look forward to. Enjoy.

You're not on your own, i've got it too😂 Back to biking after nearly 30 years away, bought a lovely old Guzzi California. Done a couple of tours back to the factory in Italy and various other UK trips. Whenever there are other bikers around, I feel like a fraud 😅 Don't understand it 😂 Hopefully we'll both get over it 😎

Imposter syndrome is a real thing, so even the prose get it though they are what they are. feeling like a fake ok maybe some people on Instagram... the syndrome is for people that are real but feel like they're fake. trust me if you own the bike take it touring and some off road and getting some adventure your fine. OK🤠👍
