I'm not sure why this video is still 360p, this is the second time uploading it because the last one also wasn't in HD. there is not much I can do about it besides deleting and re-uploading it. seeing that it didn't work last time I would rather not do that. sorry for the bad quality there is not much I can do.

still 360, but quality is ok to view on standard sized youtube window view on a 32" tv, and sat about 6 feet away. at least it isn't pixelated like some channels I have viewed at lower quality.

Man, those internet experts always seem to know best. I think it’s bad ass that you build these things from scratch. The fact that you got a functioning vehicle the first time says a lot. The side by side name brands have engineers, artists, lawyers, yes men and multitudes of other people before a first gen ever hits the sales floor. You did all that shit in your shed by yourself.

baffles me as to why people need to be negative I've been building stuff my whole life and like I said before I'm 60 yrs old, I have not seen one video where I saw any need for negativity to what you are doing, my friend I wish at your age I would have known any where near what you know.Just keep on doing what your doing and don't worry about keyboard warriors who for the most part or at least the ones criticizing you are either jealous or who have no clue how to do what you do. I'm an old guy with a ton of experience and I still get amazed at your talent and that lathe you built unreal dude, keep it up.

plus would make it better for all weather, what would you do put an air scoop or something that sticks above the canopy for air flow to the engine? plus would have to watch for engine cooling as well if blocking wind from all directions.

Rule of thumb for winches, figure about 2.5 times the weight of the vehicle being pulled out and go with a winch of that size or one size bigger. That way your not undersized, especially for mud. That 4 ton winch is like 5.5 times larger than what that buggy weighs (estimating 1500lbs for the buggy with driver and passenger).

The more I watch your videos the more I want to build a 4x4 buggy with ifs rear and front using pajero v60 diffs or bmw and a Mercedes g463 transfer case. I know those items are not common in the us but here in Italy this is all I can use ahaha

Having a winch that can pull 2 1/2 times the weight of the vehicle is a good idea just in case you get stuck in a deep mud hole spot. You did fine with that winch Chris. However I would suggest that you get good deep cycle marine battery for that buggy. The reason why is because the winch is going to be a power drainer for sure. The charging system on that Motorcycle engine is not going to be able to with that winch using a car battery. Car batteries are mostly used for super high amp draw applications such as starting. Deep cycle batteries mostly used longer period amp draw applications. You could try a yellow top Optima or something similar. It's a good in-between battery high amp draw and good power draw longevity.

The tank looks awesome!! Youre going to need to put "load distributing" braces or bracket on the tank. Those 2 very narrow mounting point will put a very concentrated point of vibrations and stress. Maybe make 2 1 inch wide rings that go around the entire tank or at least the bottom half.

to cut those straps its eazier to use a instant hot type soldering iron with the tip flattened , it melts the fibres together as well to prevent fraying , a butterknife made hot with a propane flame works too depending on if you going to run the cart in sandy dunes or muddy forrest , a set of driving plates and a shovel might be a nice add on too having a winch opposite the door in youre shop might be a good idea too , as it helps you get the projcts back in the shop

i STRONGLY recommend a disconnect switch between the winch and battery pos connection for safety, if you have a solonoid stick ON it can draw the cable into the winch and wreck your fairlead and the winch mount, still a sweet build man, cant wait to see this thing rippin' around off road xD

rule of thumb, on limit straps you get an inch per foot of stretch, and those are just single thickness

If you really want that clutch to live you gotta run Motul 4t oil and an oil cooler. Those things are used to hauling around a 400lb bike, not the 1000lb contraption you put it in. Barnett plates and uprated springs will help too.

You need a lower bumper to protect you front control arms. You should make it street legal and put some spare tires on the roof as well as some fenders, a floor pan, and a windshield. Instead of regearing it for when driving on the street, you can just put larger tires on the back.

Would it be possible to do a multiple stage gear system like a mountain bike? I bet you could build something like that. But then you get into issues with the chain.. ehhh.. probably better to just switch the gears manually before each run.

You are going to install two batteries, right? :-) Install one for operation, one dedicated to the winch. Equally spaced. Weight distribution. Fail safe redundancy. It is always a good idea to have two batteries, independent circuits, that have a switch that you can access for either disabled system. (Should that arise). Smaller batteries, 2. Equally spaced. Love your engineering. Just giving my 2 cents. You are good! Yes, I was redundant.

My opinion you have made the right choice to gear for offroad in low gears. Wanna go faster, simply shift gears and mash out. Isn't it a 5 speed?

My thoughts exactly. I have similar gearing(12/60) on my gsxr1100 buggy that weighs 1100 lbs and it does 90mph at about 11000 rpms. Wind that bike engine out! :)

Amazing build , if you build this thing in UAE i would really buy it off you & people in the uae are crazy about this stuff . If you open a shop over here where you build these dune buggys i guarantee your business will be booming because there is a really high demand for these expensive toys and no one builds them in uae nor there is a garage which builds it .
