I got covered in hot coolant on the ride back from the MOT, so time to investigate the coolant system and find out what that horrible mess is that came out of the reserve tank! #vintage #japanese #motorcycle #restoration #honda #vf1000
That’s the wrong coolant in there. It shouldn’t be pink it should be bright green, (basic ethyl glycol) though newer Honda type 2 coolant is blue; Pro HP rather than the original Pro. “Modern” pink coolant contains silicates which as you’ve found out will jelly up especially if it mixes with the green type and aren’t good for the water pump. ‘93 VFR750FN owner.
